Yup. Most of my cardio is either rowing, elliptical or bike, or even stairs, at least you don't have all that impact over and over again. Right now I have no ACL so it's even worse. Avoid wherever possible.
I really don't find running to be great cardio in any event. For sprints and intervals, rowing is pretty unbeatable. For endurance, stairs is great, and given what it does for your calves is probably the way to go for skiing purposes. Maybe that's personal preference.
