Holy shite, some of you people need to nlearn a thing or two about bikes. Just listen to Yeti. Or me:
If you're doing N.Shore/Freeriding/bigdropsandair then obey the following:
DO NOT buy a Railigh, Ironhorse, anything at any not-specific bikestore like fucking Sportcheck. The bike will fall apart the first curb you drop off.
Pay no attention to the deraileurs and shifters; the most important components next to your frame and fork are you cranks and bb, rims (BURLY) and hubs. Crapy shifters, deraileurs, brakes, levers, seats, tires, can all be replaced, but a good chassis to start with is your main concern.
For complete bikes, check out Norco. the have amazing bikes for very low prices. For a hardtail, if you're serious about riding, check out the 125 ans the Sasquatch.
Don't read Mountain Bike Action or Mountain Biking while looking for a bike. They know nothing about ''shore'' bikes. Their idea of a freeride bike is a Specailized FSR Enduro or a $9000 Foes DH bike. Check out Dirt, a british magizine.
But, dude, stay away from crap bikes with ''weightsaving'' components. Bikes break, some more than others. Check out
nsmb.com and ask this question on there message board.
Be smart and ride hard brah.
Sigs are really starting to bug me.
