Liberty Skis +K

Hey,

Im gonna be buying skis soon, but i have no clue which ones to get. My three options are liberty antigen, libert lte, or line mastermind.

I am about 5'8 135lbs and i basically ski rails. About 90% park. 10% groomers. I dont really care about the performance on groomers though.

The three other skis are far superior to the Masterminds imo.

I have the LTEs and absolutely love them. Super light, poppy, not too stiff not to soft. The only skis I would ever think about getting besides LTEs are actually the antigen and halos lol. I'm thinking that im going to try out the antigens this year. It basically comes down to if you want a rockered ski, or cambered one.

i have the previous version called the phil larose pro, from 08, and they are still going strong. they have developed a bit of tip rocker from so many butters. I absolutely thrash these and I am yet to have an edge crack. even though the laroses were softer than the new lte they are still stable underfoot to stop about medium jumps and are very playful.

i can definitely help you out here. I am currently riding liberty antigens 167cm which i got half way through the season. For the first half however i was on masterminds for my second season on them. I'm just gonna go ahead and say don't get line. All of their skis are factory made and although mine held up just fine I would much rather support a smaller company as opposed to a huge one. For the antigens, immediately after clipping into them I noticed that they were extremely light and responsive due to their bamboo backbone. Also, as you probably know they have what Liberty calls a bomb rocker and what that does is it lifts the nose and tails off of the snow so that if you don't make your spins all the way around they are much more forgiving to help you slide out of them. They are on all around great ski, they are great on rails due to their lightness and responsiveness as well as their very slight camber. They hold an edge very well so they are great to ride on groomers, and their rocker even lets you slash around in some powder.only problem is that they don't have a really durable topsheet. Hope this helps.

All I have heard is that people love the LTE, and Liberty skis in general.

Also does the how does the 89mm waist ride on the antigen? and how is the swing weight.

Last but not least, should i go with the 176 antigen, or the 178 LTE?

The flex on the antigen is perfect for you weight.
I'm also a very light dude, I was considering getting the antigens or the atomic punx. I ended up getting the punx, which I really like and recommend.
The antigens are also soft which made them appealing for my weight.

Ok, the LTE is out of the mix because i dont think i want such a big ski without rocker. The antigen is still in because it comes in 176 with rocker so itll ride shorter. BUT.... I have a new ski in the mix, Im interested in the Rossignol Scratch/s4 - Does any one know anything about those, i searched reviews and i got nothing but good, but compared to the antigen how are they? and id be getting 174 which is the perfect size.

Absolutely not, especially with the rocker. I'm 5'10 and am not even thinking twice about getting the 184 when I get the antigens this year.

um you are wrong any ski within the 83-90 range will feel the same on rails. as long as you round the edges over they would be ready for rails. ltes are fucking bomb. id jump on a pair right now if they came in a 182+

not true mate im sure i know how they feel as i riding them now and dont like them on rails asmuch as i have other skis

Well give reasons, you can't just say you dont like them. LTEs are one of the lightest and popiest skis out there, and they have the most durable edges I have ever seen on a pair of skis. They are basically the perfect rail ski.

i dont have a reason and im sure they probably are perfect for many people, they are super durable, but i just dont like them for rail riding, just my feelings
