i'd walk out too, not because i disagree with him, but because i don't need to hear some other idiot's opinion on religion for the thousandth time.

seems the world is just full of people preaching their own rationalization as to why things are they way they are and what they believe should change, projecting their dumbass opinions as fact in a phony attempt to feel like they make a difference.

Its not self righteous at all. You have to battle actual self righteous assholes (the christians who say gays and people who don't practice their religions are gonna burn for ever) with the cold hard truth. He didn't say anything outlandish he said slavery was bullshit, and that the crazy laws in leviticus were bullshit too. Even christians think they are bullshit so therefore its time to consider the "law" against homosexuality bullshit too.

I always find it funny how upset christians get when someone points out the bigotry, hatred, and the ridiculous aspects of their own book that they proclaim to be true.

Accurately describing the bible is not offensive.

LOL so true. I love how many people walked out. I'm sure a bunch just took it as an excuse to leave class and miss 3 hours but you could see a few people with the cross's around there neck.

Why on earth is that man the most ignorant person you've ever heard? There's so much more bullshit out there and you still believe that this man is the most ignorant person you've ever heard?!? I'm sorry but I don't really think you're the smartest guy around.

His point is that there are still people who respect those insane rules nowadays, that's what's so fucked up about it. How the hell can you use rules from some ancient book that was written thousands of years ago? This whole world changed but the bible stayed the same, yet people still apply the rules in the bible to modern life. People who need a holy book to do what's right need to learn how to think for themselves, it would make the world a much better place...

He's super ignorant about all the stuff he's listing. All of those crazy laws were from the old testament(they're referred to as the old covenant) and according to the bible the no longer apply after jesus came(the this that came from him and after plus his death/raising are refered to as the new covenant..

The reason modern christians still listen to the verses about gays is because they are in the new testament, not the old. The old laws are not meant to be in place anymore, it's not that they simply choose to ignore them.

he was never anti-god at all. not once did he say god, much less in a negative context.
he was pointing out how a book and the people who swear by it have used it to justify things such as slavery and gay hate when we've discounted slavery and made it highly illegal but hating on gays is still something that our society and government is okay with. refusing to hear a different side of something is what makes people who are religious come across as arrogant.
