ssshhhwaaaa? definitely Pokemon for me. Living in the Star Wars world would be tough...lots of rough livin and light sabers and creepy as fuck alien races.
Pokemon, the government seems to only hire cute woman, you leave on an adventure with badass monsters at the age of ten, you get to live a montage life with a dragon.. you know what, the pokemon world is self explanatory. Every other world is full of assholes and hardliving.
Pokemon or One Piece ftw. ANYONE has a chance to become great in those worlds. The rest you either have to be special or lucky to participate on a meaningful level.
I think it would be a toss up between Star Wars and Dragonball Z though. I mean, on one hand, you could be a Jedi Knight, have a lightsaber, and use the force. On the other hand, you can fly, destroy shit with massive energy blasts from your hands, have awesome pointy hair, move at supersonic speed, and go on awesome adventures to find magical Dragonballs that can grant you wishes. Hmm..
this is why you dont want to live in the Pokemon world
Observations:
-Gary has a wife in one of the games.
-Gary is approximately 12.
-Children are routinely kicked out of their homes at around 12 to catch and train pokemon to fight each other.
-Single parent-hood is very very common.
-Pokemon are sentient. They have a high emotional intelligence and can understand human language.
-Humans frequently make stronger bonds with their pokemon than with other humans.
-Pokemon are much stronger and more powerful than humans. They created the world in the first place. They could overpower them easily if they chose to.
-Pokemon are subservient to humans, but seem to not have a problem with this.
-Wild, not-yet caught pokemon have a huge problem with being captured by humans, and will attack any human they come across and fight tooth and nail to break out of the pokeball the first time.
-No one seems to stop and think about the fact that though pokemon are sentient and highly intelligent, humans basically treat them like attack dogs.
-There is an organized crime syndicate in every region of the pokemon universe.
-There is only one police officer per town that ever tries to do anything useful.
-There doesn’t seem to be a government.
Conclusions:
-The pokeball acts as a form of brainwashing/mind control, passifying the captured pokemon into a sort of chemical Stockholm Syndrome allowing humans to control it.
-These were created by a number of scientific megacorporations as a way to attempt to prevent pokemon from just obliterating all humans.
-The general population was never told that this is how pokeballs work. They honestly believe pokemon just want to be with us. The megacorporations and organized crime syndicates run the world in lieu of a government and keep the nature of the human/pokemon relationship secret.
-No one has ever questioned this reality because the human culture of the pokeverse is one that deemphasizes maturity. They consider people to be adults at the age of 12, even though the brain isn’t fully developed in the areas of understanding cause and effect and consequences until about 20-25. Thus, these qualities must not be considered important by society.
-Marriage is treated much more lightly in the pokeverse than in ours. It’s not expected to last, and it’s acceptable to marry just about anyone you’re dating. Kids leave home young because they were born to parents who were too young to really know what they were doing, and frequently get raised by a still very young single parent. So they leave to lighten the burden on the adults.
Results: The pokeverse is a world full of people with the maturity of children with closer bonds to the sentient creatures they’ve unknowingly brainwashed and enslaved than to each other, being controlled by criminals and corporations who are really just trying to protect the human race from annihilation.
