at first i thought they were just some OK band with 2 catchy songs. After listening to 'songs for the death' deluxe edition tho, i have come to the conclusion that they are such an underrated band. The lead singer is very versatile, the song style sort of come in pairs, there are 2 similar songs, but besides that they are very different, and mostly good(except 6 shooter).
Why is it that people have such a low opinion of this band? It could be their videos that are pretty bad to ok. But seriously guys, listen to 'the mosquito song', it will change your entire view of them.

yeah, and dave g is in like six bands, queens of the stonage, foo fighters, tenacuous d, was in nirvana til courtney love drove kurt insane and he killed himself, and he has to be in more bands than that

I heard these guys years ago on an episode of Bluetorch, went out and bought one of their older CD's and have loved them since. Grohl was just a special guest drummer for the recording of the album, they toured with a different one... More current news is. They kicked their bassist out, he was also the one that did all the screaming songs. I guess him and their frontman weren't getting along all that well. Anywa Songs for the Deaf is an awesome album, I can't wait for the next one down the pike. It was quite the experience to be standing guard on the high deserts of 29 palms, CA watching the sunrise while blasting that CD, nothing like it...

they fucking rock, i love them. i've always dreamed of a ski movie segment with go with the flow as the soundtrack, although i think a snowboard movie might have already done it.

Yeah, they're sick. I really don't know how good "Lullibies" is, I only briefly heard one song. It sounded bland. Guaranteed their sound will continue to change. Olivari was a very important piece to that band. The contrast between his frantic style and cool smoothness of Josh's voice and his stoner-rock guitar made the band what it was. Complete different outfit now, especially with Tory Van Leeuwen.

"Songs for the Deaf" was outrageously bad ass, in no small part to the kickass drumming of Dave (check out his metal project Probot--totally bad ass). I hope they can pull something out of this hodge podge of musicians they call Queens of the Stone Age, of which only one member has any history with the band.
