Your being very close-minded dude, if God exists, than he of course would have supernatural powers correct? Meaning that he could defeat sin and raise from the dead.

Also Jesus was technically as much God as he was human. Humans can't raise themselves from the dead, duh.

If your going to argue against Christianity, at least educate yourself on what you are arguing against.

Im very educated in the bible actually, just a little dusty.



And Jesus is god's son, as the bible states. The trinity is a christian interpretation that I find very wrong.


And if jesus was much god as human, how was he able to die? Why didn't he use his Godly Jew powers to shoot the stakes out of his wrists and into the foreheads of his killers?


And if he died for our sins but then came back to life, wouldn't that be like some weird God joke? like HAHA you guys die and then go to hell if you sin. I die and just come back to life after napping for 3 days.

Duh, if he HAD a unicorn that could mean it died. And if it died than there is a possibility that it was the last Unicorn ever and if that is the case then Unicorns don't exists.

not necessarily, thats just a judeo-christian god. there are lots of other beliefs from the ancient greeks to contemporary hindus that celebrate gods with very few powers. i personally think that a high power exists but only in the mind. its what provides answers to thinks you doubt and gives you a sense of purpose, but in the tangible world has no power whatsoever. the higher power could be something not unlike the machines in the matrix, and they have absolute control over our bodies and minds, and were go to heaven when we are awakened in the real world.

basically all im saying is that the likely hood of a higher power's existence is fairly high, however the odds suggest that it is not how gods are discussed in most religions.

I agree with OP. To believe that some deluded nomad who wandered the greater jerusalem area turned water into wine, and died and came back to life is absolutely ridiculous. And as Hume pointed out, even if Jesus did perform those miracles it wouldn't mean he was the son of god. Their are many people in the bible and in other legends like mithra for example who are said to have done the same exact things as Jesus, and those stories came before the new testament.

The fact that in 2012 people believe the same fairy tales that were invented in bronze age palestine is crazy. I wish the U.S. was more like Europe. It is funny how our nation was founded by a bunch of deist who hated organized religion (and that was way back in the 18th century) and now its the most devout modern country. Luckily the number of atheists, and agnostics has been on the rise recently.

I leave you with a small question from Hume: What is more likely, a baby being born of a virgin, or that a Jewish Minx should tell a lie.

Your second sentence doesn't even make sense, you say you know the bible, but you seem to be missing the whole point of the book, he died and rose again so that whoever believes in Him could be saved.
