Time Warp in AE cs5

Hey ive been trying to mess with time warp in cs5 to get those super slo mo shots that make it look like its not moving at all...

ive been having trouble cause the part of the clip i want gets clipped out because the length of the clip doesnt get longer so the 30 sec clip turns into a 30 sec clip of the first seconds of the clip just in slo mo..

so hopefully someone understands what i said, haha.

you need to plan those shots ahead if you are slowing down in post. shoot the subject much longer because in time warp/remap whatever it is, it keeps the same original clip length at full speed, so to get the slow mo you need to have a longer tail end of video after the trick. the only way i can think of to fix that is slow it down to like 50% in a timeline editor like final cut/premiere, then take it back in to after effects and you wont have to slow it down quite as much for the same effect so the trick might not get cut off as close.

right click the clip and under time, click enable time remaping. you can then change the length of the clip longer than the original footage

yea i tried to download and get a serial for twixter but could not get it withough the trial "x" over the video.

yea ill have to try that out. makes sense. i shot my video in 60 fps so i could slow it down better. but yea i gotta figure this time warp out.

i know how i would do it with twixtor and fcp would be to copy the clip a few times, then nest those identical clips, and apply twixtor to the nested clip
this way it acts like a longer clip, but when you slow it down you get the whole clip

not at all, just add some broll to your selected slowmo and make it into a seperate sequence..then just copy/paste sequence into project sequence..

What you do is, say you have a 10 second clip, you put it in a composition with a say 20 second length then make a new 20 second composition and use te first composition as your video
