Are SPK's as comfy as FT's and whats the flex like?

They are completly different fitting boots so depending how they fit your foot will depend how comfy they are.  Try them on at a ski shop

well full tilts are definatly narrower.  i had spk's last year and they were comfortable at first but once they packed out they fit like a skate shoe cause my feet were just to narrow.  this year im rocking full tilts and they feel much better.  any friends with boots you could try on?

I have chronic issues with normal boots with my instep and i found the SPKs to pinch that area. FT IMO, has a higher instep if thats the kind of issue you have with your feet.

Which tiny corner of the uk do you live in that your not near a ski shop. Where do you ski, if you ever ski at a dome, they all have great boot fitting shops.

You really need to go get fitted, make a day of it, go to a dome for some skiing and to get your boots fitted.

South-west, i'm only 15 so i cant travel/afford it without my mum who doesnt really approve of it. I was thinkiing FT's due to the intuition liners.

No hate intended but here comes a rant:

are you joking?

I would like to ask every Nser in either a FT or a SPK what they define ski boot fit to be.
are they as comfy? wtf kind of question is that? or did i miss the part when we register for ns and get a foot scan so everyone here has the exact shaped foot and therefore that question is valid?

go to a bootfitter ( yes i see you live somewhere with no bootfitters around) at the next mountain you ski on and get boots there.

or just buy some doooppppeeee boots brah with like some dyed bits and be all steezy like tom wallisch and shit brah.

seriously do you guys have any idea how much more you are going to get out of skiing in general if you just let the fitter do their job? even if god forbid you end up in grey boots with 4 BUCKLES ZOMG!!11!

wait so your buying boots though your mom doesn't approve of you skiing enough to make sure you don't flush 400 dollars down the drain?

Your 15 mate, just get the train with some mates to MK, Tam or even Hemmel. Get some boots fitted then go ski the park for a few hours to test them out.

What people here forget is that a boot, itself is only the starting point, you need footbeds, possibly alignment, boot stretching, liner work ect ect. You don't get any of that online, that's why the boots cost less. Buy in a shop its much cheaper in the long run, as once you buy them you should not have to pay any extra for follow up fitting, and you will know its the correct boot for you.

No, she takes me skiing like 2 weeks a year, but she refuses to buy me any ski gear until im like 17. and i cant stand hire boots anymore. It's just i noticed the difference in price and i was wondering if FT's were really that much better.

FT mould to your feet during use with the intuition liners? Worse case scenario, ill go to a ski shop that doesnt sell FT's and offer them like a tenner to mould them

Doesn't matter. If the shell doesn't fit your foot, the boot won't be comfortable in the long run..

Ski Bartlett make the trip their bootfitters are so good and they have better stocks than quite most shops over here in western canada

no excuse man im from the uk there are shops all over the place, big chains like snow and rock, ellis bringham, or smaller one like ski bartlett, if you cant get to a shop doing buy from the Internet just wait until u can get to a shop and try boots on otherwise your just gona feel a hole world of pain when u ski
