Insurance Help? I got in accident.

So thursday the east was finally getting some snow so i decided to head up north for a day or skiing. On the way up while traveling on a two lane divided highway in white out conditions a teenage girl in a ford taurus decided it was a great idea to pass me while there is 4in of snow on the ground. Well she sucks at driving and spins a 360 in front of me and I attempted to stop but she was blocking the whole road and i could avoid her. I ended up hitting her at about 20 mph in the right rear of her car.

Im wondering if anyone knows what the chances are that insurance will cover it it was impossible for me to avoid hitting her no matter what i did.

They're going to look into the incident.

It sounds like you aren't at fault though.
How much damage is done to your car? Hers?

Have you been in touch with your insurance provider yet?

its not your fault, so as long as she told the truth and didnt make up some bullshit story that makes it look like you did it, your good. her insurance will completely pay for the damage, often extra on top of that for a rental car and loss of use for when your car is in the shop, and your rates wont change cuz it wasnt your fault.

They were both driveable I have a big dent right above the left wheel as well as dents all along the driver side doors and a few dents on the right side. Also the front bumper is also hanging off on the left side. I explained the whole situation to my agent today

I also forgot to say I was able to ski my first two days of powder this year after this which was awesome!

sounds like you should be covered and that you wern't at fault. Explain everything clearly, get witness statements if possible and hope that she doesn't lie.

They called me after the accident because I left before they came because of other cars sliding off the road towards us. The police told me she lied and said that I rear ended her but the damage showed that I didn't. Will I be able to contact the area police and get the report from them?

You should have to deal with the police anyways.

When I was in my accident, I just had to go to a station and talk to someone. I filled out a report, and showed them the damage to my car (My bill was $10000, so yours might be a different case).
