my friend rides them and ive used them before,, the sidecut takes a while to get used to, but they are incredibly durable and fast. Not the typical park ski but they are very forgiving and fun to ride. They are a better option that the halo. My friend thinks highly of them and suggests them to anyone who asks.
I just bought this ski for this season and as much as I love then it's a secondary ski for me right now. I use my THall's more. Armada killed it on the graphics this year with the Alpha 1's also I like the EST park rocker and the base on this ski is very fast. I would for sure recommend this ski to anyone, great all around park ski!
Im thinking about getting them but i cant decide between the 176 or the 181. I am 6 foot 2 210 lbs and i currently ride a k2 extreme 169 center mounted. I am really good outside the park and i wanted to either get the ar7 or this.
my brother, my best friend and I all ride alpha 1s, by far my favorite ski iv ever had, there awesome on jumps and rails, although mine took a while to get used to on rails sense there alot longer, went from a 156 k2 to a 182 alpha 1 haha, there pretty stiff, but you can still butter them decently, the halo really isnt that much softer this year, very durable so far, little topsheet damage, mine are kind of heavy sense i have beefy bindings, but my brother has the squires and with the alpha 1s there extremely light, they carve pretty darn good for a twin tip (if its not ice i have no edge) and seem to be good in the crud, never tried them in powder
You could if you really wanted to, because preference reigns supreme. However, the recommended average length for park skis is equal to your height, so that would be short.
I am 5'11 and 155 lb I bought the 171 and they are a bit short with you size and weight I would go with 181 due to the EST park rocker so the Alpha 1 rides really short, also the length of the ski will help you feel more stable. I love this ski and the rocker helps you slay the park in any condition. Honestly both skis are great and you couldn't go wrong. But I ride the Alpha 1 and love it!
yeah, i skied both 175 and whatever the 180 size in JJ's and if their rocker is similar to the park rocker than i'd go with you longer options. plus next years space alphas are really cool.
Im 5'10'', 135 pounds and I road my friends 181 alpha 1's for a run. I would have to say it was the most fun i have had on skis a while. I will be buying 181's next year.... So you should defiantly get the 181's.
