How can there be any progression or creativity when they hand out 100s by definition there can be no more progression in competition pipe because that is the ultimate run ... It doesn't make sense

Travis Pastrana scored a 99 back in like 1998 or something. Was that the end of progression in motorcross competition? People have thrown down wayyy better runs than they did 14 years ago and scored in the 80s/low 90s. Argument invalid. You're an idiot. Do yourself a favor and ask for this thread to be deleted.

Go to site discussion so you can understand why you are about to be banned. There is absolutely NO trolling of other forums/sites with blatant disrespect or stupidity. You are trashing newschoolers reputation. Now if you want to just comment on it in a way that doesn't make you look like a 12 year old fuckface then by all means go for it.

The impression I got was that they were only giving him 100 because he did so much better than all the other competitors, not because it was perfect(which it most certainly wasn't) which is ridiculous.

Because the score represents that moment during that competition. He may score different in the next event with the exact same run. It's a momentary thing.

For example a run in 1998 in which a guy scores 95 will not be a 95 by today's standards.
He may even struggle to get let's say 40 points.

Ok I'm not trying to look trashy just I don't understand the 100 decision it was the wrong decision to make. I have no problems with x-gmaes as an organisation they provided the first competition format for our sport and I would like to thank them for that. Again shaun white has excelled in both snowboarding and vert skating, with tricks like the armadillo (heelflip 540 body varial). Shaun is an incredibly versatile athlete that knows how to conduct himself something many other athletes don't know how to do. I struggle to understand the theory behind the 100 if it was awarded not because it was perfect (because it wasn't) but because it was of a higher standard to the other athletes then it shouldn't have got 100 by that logic the highest he deserved was 99.99. I just feel that as a result of that judging decision creativity and progression in competition snowboarding at least may have taken a knock. I didn't actually realise this could possibly get me banned, as I have seen so many threads saying like this fb pic so I can win for free karma. I have actually deleted my comment on the status updates as not to tarnish the newschoolers reputation.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Skiing and snowboarding are progressing faster than the X-Games courses. They are missing out on some insane potential. They lack creativity with the course.

That being said no one can deny what it has done for skiing and action sports in general. The just need to step their game up, we all know the athletes have.
