Really what my beef with the situation was is not the lack of Newschoolers respect, it was the lack of respect for online communities.
Traditional media gets caught up in that all over the place. They're so used to being greek gods talking down to the people, that they rarely even notice that the masses are gathering and sharing. Its completely ridiculous that a journalist could miss out on such an important category as community.
Its a really frustrating point for me, because I deal with it all the time in the business side of NS. Marketing people, media people, and non-community types everywhere simply lack any understanding of the power of online social networks.
I just can't stand to see such irresponsible journalism.
