I'm looking to get some legit good quality earbuds, budget of around $100-$120. Any recommendations?

If you really want to know what you're buying I recommend going to http://www.head-fi.org/ They have sick reviews and a bunch of audiophiles that know what they are talking about. A site purely dedicated to headphones.

panasonic HJE-900's pretty badass if bass is a big thing for you, got mine for 100 bucks, pretty much unbreakable too... other than that for earbuds there's yukin pk2 or 3 or 1 or some number like that, and iem's there's hippo, fischer audio and all those slightly dodge seeming brands

Just went and got my Klipsch S4s replaced, bought them in september and I lost sound in one ear. Took them back to future shop and they replaced them right there, didn't have to send them beach to the factory or anything. Stoked.

really, you are paying for the name and just an over rated audio company.

like stated above, no highs no lows must be bose. their frequency respnse just isnt there..

i've had multiple audio engineers tell me this. i work in the industry.

Yeah you mixed up db with Hz, but there's no way they truly go down to 10Hz, the limit of human hearing is 20Hz, even down around there <25Hz alot of it is the actual feeling that you notice, not the sound. Due to the way human hearing rolls off it requires A LOT of air moving below like 30-35Hz to be useful, also almost no music (except some organ) has any real content below about 32Hz. Try running a sine wave on those headphones and see how low you can hear it before it rolls off.

In terms of headphones, since it seems all you want is a crapload of base at a decent price, try the Hippo VB, in that price the HJE-900 is hard to get but awesome if you can.

The Bose listed are nice, but Bose headphones, at least the ones ive used have no bass so it depends on what youre listening too, i listen to rap/hip-hop so i like the bass. 

For people saying beats are overpriced pieces of shit, don't listen to that, those are just people who have never listened to them and heard someone say they sucked one time so they jump on the train.  Sure the on/over ear ones are pretty overpriced but they're still nice.  The earbuds arent that expensive. 

I would get the s4s though, my friend has those and they are pretty nice especially for the price.  Just had to have my beats rant. 

Honestly if i was to buy expensive headphones they would be over/on ear not buds.

yea, i realized that after i posted that.. and yes, they can go down to 10hz.

if they dont go down to 10hz, then sue them and make millions.

and it depends on who you are and if you know what you are listening for. the average is down to 15 to 20h all the way up to 19 or 20k. humans can hear all the way down to 10 or 12..

but even if you cant directly pick it out, your low end will sound so much fuller if you do have that extra lower hz. instead of it being cut off at 20, you'll have that extra there to bring a fullness or more kick to the low end. it wont sound empty.

Somewhere on diyaudio there was a huge thread about not needing bass below 30oddHz, and how there just isn't content down there in almost anything. If i find it i'll link some of the spectrographs they got, where there is very very little that low... Also I seriously doubt -3db or even -10db is at 10Hz...
WIth movies and all, it does make a difference however.
About beats, they are pretty good, but you can definately get better for the price (at least with the studios)

All the idiots talking about how the beats are 'overpriced pieces of shit' are morons

I got a pair of the beats earbuds from a not quite legal supplier for only $50 and after wearing them for a few months I can definitely say I would have gladly paid full price for them

I've only ever used the normal ipod earbuds and some skullcandy ones and i cant even describe the difference in quality its so huge - you literally can hear sounds in songs youve never heard before when you are wearing them its amazing

Yep, and yes, anything is infinitely better than iphone headphones, but seriously try some properly good cans, for a similar price to beats, and you will see that they are a bit overpriced... Although they do look cool... It's like bose, you pay for the image.

Really the whole HJE line from the bargains on up is the best option in any price range for me... they're very comfortable and the sound, even on the lower end ones is quite good. I have 180s in my office, 350s at home, 600s in my skiIpod...
