I am a camera newb first of all. I have a JVC Everio GZ-HD7 and I need a wide angle lens for it so I can do follow cams and what not. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? I dont even know what size to get so if anyone can help me out that would be great.
You can find them used on dvxuser for really cheap, like around a quarter of the price. Don't waste your time with that shitty bundle, look into a Raynox, they're about $150 new I think. It still might seem expensive but if you put a piece of shit in front of your real lens, then your image will be ruined, especially since you're filming in HD.
Ok I have narrowed it down to the Opteka Platinum Series 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens. They dont make it for my camera (46mm) so my question is, they make a 43mm. could i buy a 43-46mm adapter and make it work?
I have the exact same camera as you and I ordered the same exact fisheye and when i got it, I did not like it because you get the circle around the footage. So I sent it back and got this, http://opteka.com/optekax-treme58mm03xhdsuperfisheyelensforvideocamcorders.aspx yeah its big but i love it! just get a step down adapter.
The first vid is filmed with the fisheye, i like it because it does not have the distorted picture, second vid is not mine but it just shows the vignette you will get from the smaller lens. there's actually a little bit more vignette than that. Hope this helps you decide
