My dad attempted to keep me on a curfew until I was 19. It also wasn't uncommon to find him reading through my cell phone or computer. Ah well what can you do.

say hey, the more i work the more money i can save for a car, college, etc. wont have to ask you as much for money for things. learn how to deal with more responsibility and multitasking like youll do in college. tell her itll keep you from doing other things she may worry about. if all else fails..well..im sorry.

theres no reasoning with her. she's probably the most unreasonable person I know ACTUALLY and most hypocritical.

SHE is the one who wants me to save my money for college. but working one day a week at outback on a weekday getting paid 3 dollars an hour plus tips is not going to get me there.

that sucks, sorry. maybe wait til your argument blows over and present it formally. like, overly formal, just to show that youre adamant about presenting your point and being listened to like an adult. maybe make a powerpoint or something ridiculous of what the average college costs, how long it would take you to save, what you get paid and how much you need, etc. just a thought, might be stupid, but at this point, what have you got to lose

what makes me different from anybody else here in nsg? i post things in hope that i can find a common ground with someone. I'm not some whiny twelve year who hates there parents, i know that she wants what's best for me and normally i comply. but her nagging me to make money is pissing me off, when i cant make money because she won't let me.

and she IS controlling. But you wouldnt know because you don't know her.

Similar situation as you... However I graduated and things have been going a ton better. Honestly, Im not sure there is much you can do atm.. Just grin and bear it, try and get good grades so you can get a good scholarship, and have some damn fun while youre still young!

think about it this way...put yourself in my shoes as well..
Me, i did not do in well in school last semester....i was planning on doing concrete already....but ontop of that i was also gifted with having absolutely no summer. i worked all summer made 3500 bucks and gave 1500 to my folks. they make me give them money, they make me work. and i have no remembrance of my freshmen summer...at all. it kinda blows....
now i am waiting on getting my license....they won't give me taht.....so don't be begging for work, because if your parents are anything like mine, one fuck up and that means work.....and not the easy kind. so please stop complaining. go hang out with some friends or something. work when they make you....don't beg for it..
