According to the post your age thread the average age is somewhere around 19 or twenty. I'm twenty I love this site to be honest. I think as long as I'm shredding, (I'm also a snowboarder OP) I will check it regularly, and as long as I'm bored i'll have something to do. Never too old for new schoolers, but you should hit a point as you get older that you just don't have the time for newschoolers.

Maybe it is just me, but I just don't think I'll ever be able to handle TGR. The immature ignorance of NS can be frustrating sometimes, but I still love it. I don't think I enjoy the cranky, bitter people on TGR. There are some really great folks on TGR, but some of the bad ones just ruin it for me.

Sorry I didn't actually reply to the OP so I will now.

I don't think there is a certain age you have to be, to be on either site. I actually made an account on TGR recently and I'm only 17. It's all about what type of skiing you enjoy and it's almost a maturity type of factor that goes into it too.

I can definitely see myself getting more mature as time goes by. I've also started to drift away from park skiing to as I've gotten more mature and almost have gained more common sense.
Actually from experience, I've gotten 8 concussions over time from motocross and park skiing. I progressed a lot in both and paid for it with brain damage and learning issues.
Now, I can still function and do daily tasks fine, but I'm actually no longer allowed to hit jumps and rails anymore, just because the risk factor is higher and if I get anymore head injuries I could be screwed up for the rest of my life more than I am now. (I still sneak in the occasional rail here and there though)
So right now I'm actually at an awkward point of my skiing life too. First, I live on the east coast, so there isn't much backcountry skiing here to begin with, especially this season. Since I was pushed away from park, I still wear all the baggy clothes, and ride center mount skis. All I do though is cruise groomers and fly through the woods, if conditions let me. I'm having more fun flying through trees though than I ever had any other type of skiing. Granted skiing in general is just fun, but I think I found my part in it.
It's just all about doing what you enjoy, and you can be on either site that you enjoy too. I love newschoolers for the humor on it and just the format is a lot easier to follow than TGR because it's what I'm used to and have been on longest. I like TGR for the more mature side and all around stoke on skiing.
Sparknotes: I do what I love in skiing, and you can be on either site. It's just what you love to do and everyone on both sites shares the same love of skiing.

Oh I just realized I forgot you boarded. The same thing I said still applies, just take "skiing" and switch it to "boaarding". Sorry, I ski so I always picture everyone on this site to ski for some reason. My bad, my ignorance, sorry.

TGR is way more awesome than NS, but there is a shitty grace period where you have to stay on NS while making sure people don't hate you on TGR. it takes a couple years.

 im 19 and i dont think im too old for NS? I still shred with some 14 year olds when i see them a the mountain. And i ride with my 18,19, and 20 year old friends too...It dont really matter your age, u share common interestes so who cares?

I registered for TGR and immediately the know-it-all elitist 30 some-odd year olds are beefing me. Ever meet those older ski bum guys that don't ever shut up and act like they're the be all end all of skiing, and don't even pause to give you a chance to speak, and act like they already know everything you just said plus more? I think they are just grumpy and bitter that they are older and don't have a fucking career or anything going for them other than skiing, which makes them sore everyday now. Just cause I'm 23 doesn't mean I don't know shit, I grew up skiing. Won't be me in 10 years! Gotta stay humble. Through all the mockery, misinformation, and cat and dog pictures, NS ain't really that bad...

I'm probably more of a TGR style skier these days, in that I ski way more powder than I do park, plus I am getting pretty old (27) but the vibe over there just sucks. I can't be bothered with the douchyness, at least most of the NS idiots have the excuse of being young and immature, rather than some of TGR still being dumbass pricks whilst they are old. I even like epic ski more than I like TGR. I do like browsing some of the TRs in there though.

As a senior member of NS, i wouldnt trade one day of boring NS for the best day on TGR. There is just sooo much random obnoxious shit on here i cant stay away and i never will. I ski squaw, and i get the same Bro feeling on TGR as i do in line at kt. I prefer the atmosphere ,inside jokes and personalities on Newschoolers far to much.

unofficial networks. i guess its a bunch of older guys but if you dont like the newschoolers park stuff its better. i dont care for park much anymore so unofficial is a little bit more interesting for me. im not on their forum though i just skim through their videos and stuff
