Las Lenas, ARG - Home of the gnarliest chairlift on earth. Skiing gnar shit in August/September

La Grave, FRA - Just fucking sick terrain, the end. Huge dream of mine for years now.

Kuro-Dake, JAP - One giant tram takes you nearly to the top of this thing, and you just shred those sick trees you see in the movies all day long without ski patrol to get on your case (since there isn't any)

Mad River Glen, VT - Yeah, yeah.. the east coast 'sucks'... but what other place in the world brings you back to 1947 and has a SINGLE CHAIR...

It's nuts intense - some of the lines are scary!

I would add to your list, my one place i must go is Krasnaya Polyana in Russia - always wanted to go there... insane lines all off a 5 min hot lap...

Les Portes du Soleil!

It's a major skisports destination in the northern French alps (Chablais Alps) encompassing thirteen resorts between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland. It's situated on the border so one moment you could be skiing in Switzerland and the other moment in France.

With more than 650 km of marked pistes and about 200 lifts in total, spread over 14 valleys and about 400 square miles (1036 square km) Portes du Soleil ranks among the two largest skiareas in the world (the other being Les Trois Vallees).


And they have the Swiss Wall:

Chamonix. I've been there, skied Grand Montets, but I want to go up the Aiguille du Midi and ski down to Cham from there.

Japan. Niseko is not very steep, so maybe some other spot.

Verbier. Bec des Rosses. I mean, it's the final for FWT and completely insane. It's a thing.

Heliskiing in Alaska. Not really a resort, but also one of those things that is going to happen in the next ten years or so.

I don't know what the fifth one would be. I'd say Engelberg, but I've already been there. It'd be awesome to go back though, I was twelve when I was there, and the snow (or the lack of it) sucked. Other than that I love just cruising around huge systems, so maybe Trois Vallées or something like that.

Chamonix - gotta see what all the hype is about, you know?

Silverton, CO - seams like Whitewater, BC, but with a sketchy snowpack. why not!

Jackson Hole - I'd love to spend a season here one day.

Alta - hopefully before they let snowboarders in.

Las Lenas - heard good things (tied for 5th - Bariloche - word is they have better trees than the Kootenays... besides, I'll probably hit them on the same trip)

idk where you would want to go but i say that
1 in the canadian rockies
1 in tahoe
1 on the EC united states
1 in japan
1 in europe.

heres why. every area of the world skiing is just a little bit different and being able to take all of that in would be really cool in my mind. plus you'd be able to be in a lot of different areas in the world not just on the western US and canada

2. Kashmir - Apprently pretty epic and some very interesting culture

Places I can recommend:

Niseko - Insane pow, probably not the gnarliest terrain but super fun.

Campitello - In the Dolomites between the Italian and Austrian
border. Some amazing scenery and you could spend 2 seasons there and still have places left to explore.

Romania - More for a cultural change than good snow.
