If anyone has been playing the series, could you please write a very basic synopsis of what the games about? Simple plot please. I know literally nothing, and I want to have a basic knowledge before I buy it. +k for good answers!

There inst just one plot, there is hundreds. There is a main quest and hundreds of side quests. And technically the game is open ended, so it can never really be beat. It is a massive and beautiful world with like 100+ dungeons to explore and thousands of creatures to kill. Its an awesome game, if your questioning buying it, just do it. you wont regret it!

You can choose witch side you want to be on, the imperials (government in skyrim) or the stormcloaks (the rebels) your decisions in the game affect everything, from witch sides you choose to who you kill.

You play as a prisoner on his way to die on the chopping block in the land of Skyrim. With you is Ulfric Stormcloak, the leader of an uprising and the rebellious Stormcloaks, who fight to rid the land of the Imperial alliance, who want to destroy the things holy to the Nords, the native residents of Skyrim.

You are saved by chance as Alduin, an ancient dragon, attacks your prison camp. Ulfric escapes, as do you, and you are free to do what you will from this point onwards. However, completing the first mission of the main quest, you learn that you are Dovahkiin, the Dragonborn, a person capable of learning the ancient and powerful language of dragons and challenging them. It's your destiny to seek if your power is a curse or a blessing.

On the way, however, you're able to join tens of different factions and guilds, slay the most powerful foes from mythical Dragon Priests to mammoth-herding giants. It's a very immersive place, this land of Skyrim, and you'll have to constantly fight to balance both your destiny as the Dragonborn, and the fact that you have a life and you got shit to do.

I couldn't tell you witch side is more fun, I choose the stormcloaks, I didn't really like the idea of joining the side that tried to execute me in the start of the game. But the I had fun with the stormcloaks

neither side is really fun to play TBH, they both basically have the same type of quests on each side. Sometimes you will be asked to take a fort from the opposing faction or fetch a certain artifact. The only quests that really stand out in the Civil War chains (storm cloaks vs imperials) are when you get to attack or defend White Run and the very ending where you take control of the opposing factions main city and kill the leader, other than that though the quest is a buzz kill. Although I was never much of a quest person, I just like going around and doing my own thing like exploring and finding cool monsters and what not

youre like an warrior with something like a knife, or axe or something and you need to... like kill dragons and stuff and kill some people i think. and sometimes tjere are like, deadpeople attacking you and stuff... yeah its a cool game i guess...... nah it isnt, its for nerds

so many quests you just do whatever the fuck you want. the main quest is about killing alduin world eater, but thats only a really small part of the game

in windhelm, theres this kid named arius or something weird with an A. If you go to his house, he asks you to kill his old orphanage owner person in Rifton. After you kill her, like a day later, some random guy will come up to you and give you a letter saying "we know"... The next time you fall asleep, when you wake up, the leader of the dark brotherhood will be looking over you.

That wasn't a very good description. sorry. but you could probably find a whole tutorial on youtube if you wanted to.

I thought the Dark Brotherhood quests in Oblivion were so much more fun then in Skyrim...kind of a let down for me. the rest of the game is dope though

You play as an adventurer in the game and a bunch of towns you visit have guards and when you speak to them, majority of the time they'll say something like this, "I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee."
