Question for all the xbox computer geniuses

i dropped my xbox 360 from about 3 feet cause i had it wrapped in my jacket and i pulled out my jacket and it made my xbox tumble pretty hard. im in europe so i cant check to see if it works cause the voltage wont match...

all i care about is the hard drive, i have more xboxes at home. Should i disconnect my hard drive? im pretty sure my hard drive is ok but if is shorted out something in my xbox do you you think it could be draining the memory or fucking up the hard drive if i keep it attached? does the residual memory on an xbox hard drive ever run out? or is it like a nirntendo cartridge that saves your data forever. ive got alot of important stuff on the hard drive so i was wondering whether you think i should detach my hard drive or leave it attached to my xbox. do you think it will make any difference, assuming the xbox is fucked and the tough hard drive is ok? or should i detach it? how long will the memory last in a detached xbox 360 hard drive? do you think it will last 6 months with no power?

you should be fine. Most problems that happen to hard drives happen when they are dropped running.

And any information that is on your hard drive will last forever (considering your hard drive is not damaged or broken in any way)

but arent the detachable hard drives on original xbox 360s have like a solid memory chip type memory like the memory chips that you detach from a camera? im pretty sure theres no spinning disk in the hard drive.

my only worry is if the xbox console shorted out would it be fucking with my hard drive if the power is off?

and yeah i have tons of other xboxes all i care about is the hard drive. assuming the disk, if there is one, inside the detachable hard drives is ok but the hard drive is damaged, should i go to the geek squad or send it to xbox to get the information retreived?  also while im at it, does anybody know where i can get a 240 volt to 120 volt converter in europe? ill be here for a couple more months and i wish i could know now if my hard drive and xbox were damaged

you mean on the original xbox 360s theres a spinning disk in that little detachabe side attachment hard drive? remember im not talking about the new xbox slims that have an internal hard drive (imo the new ones are worse, ive tried both)
