Designing a line of skis

For my final project for art, my teacher and I decided on painting some designs for skis.

But Im going to take this a step further, seeing how he also wants this displayed for a show, and also at shows that he goes to. So im going to actually make "blank" skis out of wood for now, for the paintings to go on. A pair of fat powder skis, all mountain skis, and some park skis, all with tip/tail rise, and all real life dimensions, maybe even mount a pair of bindings on one of them.

He also suggested sending them into some company's, or try to promote them in some way! So I figured give newschoolers a shout and see what you guys think.

I started doing some quick paintings to get ideas of what I want. I really like some of Eric Pollards art, and he definitely inspires me on some level for my paintings. Im still trying to think of some ideas on what would look sick on each pair so of course ideas are welcome! I dont have any pictures yet, but I will soon!

Don't mind the hater^ above. 

I know G3 skis have a contest every year for ski designs.  You have to get people to vote for your design to make the finals.

They came out dope!

Might want to consider stretching a canvas a little wider than ski size and equal in length. Paint on them with some oil if you have the resources to. The detail and texture will come out looking so much better. If you don't have the $$$ to paint with oil, good quality acrylic mixed with some ultra-matte gel works just as well. Not only will you have a dope canvas painting to put on your wall and possibly display and sell at a show, but you'll have a nice high quality painting to be transferred to actual skis if you decide to do that one day.

Dude shut up..you probably can't even comprehend the talent this kid has...and to sit there and bag on his inspiration is just a dick move..art digresses from other Art as it has for centuries. He didn't copy it, he may have liked the flow of pollards design and encorporated that element into his style..you can't just say he copied it because that is the fucking understatement of the century

All artists have inspirations that may feel 'copied' in their work. However, those pieces inspired by others have the artist's own originality in them, which is then propagated in further pieces, which in turn becomes the artist's own style. Haters be hatin
