your moms closet or a tag sale. you dont need a fancy-schmancy swix iron to melt wax, any clothing iron will work if it has an adjustable temperature. but dont try and use it on clothes after you use it for wax.

you might want to look for something without holes, ie not a modern steam one cause the wax gets stuck. we use a handheld crepe iron (3 bucks from goodwill) works like a charm, hot and wide
