i get sick of them when people basically have the same shots in their sections, such as crichton last yearother than that, i like seeing the same people on the same features, i like to see how each person hits it differently or what else gets thrown down on it

i really dug the plehouse stuff, they seemed to have stuff that no one else had for those skiers, especially mikeal, his seg was so ill and steezy even thought it was tiny.

there arent enough park skiers to have diverse footage, thats why we get so much overlap. it will get better and better over the next few seasons.

yeah, the low level stuff is all on the same jump because its not like they have alot to film on. I doubt any movie you could make would have alot of varying terrain, because your ski mountain doesnt have alot to offer.

most people film on more han one mountain. In my part for minor threat (the ny video) I only have 2 shot from my home mountain.

well, it's just hard for most small ski companies to ski in the BC, and in my experience, whenever there is enough powder that it would look decent on film I usually just want to ski

Uh, well I think a lot of this stems from the definition of 'company'... sure, a lot of the trailers you might see on NS suck, but then again, it's not like these guys are actually trying to make a career in filmmaking. Well, maybe they are, but most of them are sadly mistaken.

what are you fuckin talking about? park is the sport that newschool is about.....maovies should get more park shots in and urban and way less bc kicker shots....im tired of seeing bakcountry kicker shots.....that should be where you practice a trick then you throw it in the park. im tired of seeing all the park footage from superpark. its all the same shit for everyones park. go out and film in other parks and get some different foootage. and stop putting 75% of the shots bc kickers....theres too much of it.

Maybe if you are 14 and you want to learn a brand new trick it's better to go for it on some 'BC' jump where the landing is soft so when you land on your head you don't die. But when you are talking about the highest level of skiing its the opposite. Pros should be (and are) learning there tricks in the terrain park off jumps that are relatively small, and in a very controlled enviroment. And then they take those tricks to backcountry features including cliffs, jumps and other random terrain that you should see in movies.

Yeah, BristolRider, that was a stupid comment. You clearly don't know the risks of the backcountry, I know this from experience because I've almost died in there and falling in deep snow is a bitch. Also, talk to stephen_beast, he broke his arm when he fell in the backcountry and landed on a slightly covered rock.

AceOfSpades, my home mountain has so much backcountry terrain I could make a 40 minute movie without using the same jump or rail more than once. Or is that not good enough?

Alpentalik, Theory-3 is sick, if I had money I'd buy their movie.

yeah well im 18 and i agree with him. alot of BC booter scenes are boring as hell. sometimes not..but the same cork 7's into the powder is no fun.

It's not a preference, it's a lack of knowledge and experience.

Apparently skiing should never progress past the East Coast. Just because you can't hit a BC kicker doesn't mean that Jon Olsson shouldn't.

he's right... what is really so good about BC kickers? besides that they all throw cork 7s and that switch landings are one in 35 shots.
i know that when i watch a movie i wanna see shit i can relate to.
and dont give me this bullshit about avalanche danger etc at BC kicker shoots. 75% of the BC kickers you see in movies have probably no avalanchge risk watsoever. when u land on ur side off a huge powder hit, you get your windf knocked out. land on your side off a huge park hit and your arm's broken. unless they can make really creative hits in the BC, like gaps or over rocks and shit, its no more interesting than park shots.

ECfreeski, Bristolrider... at least admit the fact that you seem to have No experience or knowledge about backcountry booters. Regardless of Avi conditions (i sure hope people arent building booters where thers is hardly any avalanche danger) BC booters and other BC terrain features are much more risky and difficult than 95% of stuff you see in a terrain park. You see the difference with Urban rails vs. Park rails cause living on the east coast you have probably experienced that. However you seem to have no knowledge of the different difficulties involved in hitting a Backcountry jump.

i defantly agree with bristolrider with this one, Most backcountry shots are boring but this year there is people throwing switch cork 9s in B/c witch is defantly dope and peps 5 huge 5 blunts in 1242(i think) where defantly progression. But when you watch the Colins brothers B/C jumps and stuff like that that isnt progresive i would defatnly rather watch some park clips

i agree that backcountry jumping in past ski movies has been reasonably lame for the most part. but we on on the verge of breaching a point where you will see limitless progression in oncoming years, and on features far more rad than your average table top.
