Does anyone know how long a tapped keg of beer will last?

how do you mean? at a party or how long without anyone really drinking off of it? and also, do you have it on a C02 tank, or just the original pump that came with it?

cold isnt enough. it has to have co2 hooked up for maximum time...
personally, if its a taped, co2-ed, refrigerated keg, i wouldnt keep it more than two weeks.

if its outside with a plain tap...2 days.

if you got c02 it will and a fridge it will last forever.....people i know have kegerators, and theres no way that a keg only lasts 2 weeks..

as far as if you tap a keg at a party and dont finish it, id say its good for the next night, but not much after that.

If you have it refridgerated and tapped with CO2 a keg can last up to a month or two. But if you tap it with a regular pump tap then you have a maximum of a day. You see, a pump tap introduces oxygen instead of CO2 to the beer inside the keg, oxygen is what causes the beer to go flat, doesn't matter if it is still cold.

I'm moving out (finally) and my dad told me that when he comes to visit I better have beer for him, so started thinking that it would probably be cheaper and definitely way cooler to have a keg instead of consistently stalking up on 2-4s. I have an oversized make out closet I could keep it in, I'd have to figure out a contraption to keep it cold though. I'd pretty much be the only one drinking it. I'm not sure if my roommate drinks beer or not, so I'd probably need it to last a good 3-4 months. For C02 do I just get a special tap? How much would that cost?

put it in a garbage can with ice, change the ice to keep it cold. the last keg party around here, my crew and i stole the keg, but b/c we had to run across town, the beer got flat. but yea if you have Co2 it can last a lot longer thats for sure

I knew I'd take heat for that. I'm not talking about getting drunk every night. I'll have one maybe two drinks on most nights. If I'm getting drunk I can finish a 2-4 in a weekend, but typically they'll last me about 3 weeks.

Rebel just buy a case of your favorite beer and keep it in a fridge. Since your not going to be drinking heavily it seems, you can just enjoy the real taste of beer and not keg beer and dont have to worry about keeping it cold and spending your money on diffrent shit.

if you tap it with just the pump (no C02), and leave it in your truck over night, and drive around with it in your truck, then the next night it will be flat.

half barrel = standard = 360 beers (12-16 ounce i don't remember) Full barrel = oil drum size is twice that. Running the keg continuously (keg stands) will make the pressure regulator leave some beer in the bottom turn on and off regularily (spontainious keg stands = good keg)
PS everyone put a mid size mini fridge under your cabinet and tap up through the counter when you go for a glass of water you will choose beer and drop out of school and lose your job like me.

that's right... 40s. Just fill your fridge with OE 40s, it's a lot cheaper, and gets you more fucked up... only $1.79 at your nearest ghetto gas station.
