Thumb Sprains

Okay so I severly sprained my thumb back in late March, wore a splint thing for about 2/3 weeks. Then I took it off to get movement back in my thumb. I thought it'd finish healing but it's still sore when I push down on it, and lets see...it's about 2 months since this happened? Anyone else ever get a bad sprain, and how long did it take to heal??

i messed up my thumb 2 years ago and it still pops when i move it and hurts a little sometimes. Thumbs suck.

yeah i hate thumbs 2, stupid dislocation messed up the first half of the year. Just use a squezze ball or just try to work it around. My thumb didnt fully heald until 3 or 31/2 months.

yeah i fracured my thumb and i wore a splint for a day so i could ski for the rest of the day...the ski patrol gave it to me....but a month or two later it still hurt sometimes and the joint like sticks out all weird and shit...
Whats the most important factor in winning a halfpipe competition?

i partally tore a ligament or somethign at whistler 3 months ago, and occasonally when i move it and put pressure on once spot it reinjurs it and it really really hurts. i did it today puting on my pants after wakeboarding.

i just re injured the thumb i broke AGAIN today at baker. i don't think thumbs ever heal. fuck thumbs who needs them.

I shattered my ring finger, didnt go to a doctor, I thought it was dislocated cause the bone was puching on the skin, so i popped it into place but that actually was just a piece of the bone, so i just wore a spling for a while, stopped wearing the splint, wakeboarded and stuff for a while, and when i realized i couldnt move it very well a month later i went to the doctor, he took X-rays and it was shattered but grew back wrong and i had to get surgery, not it is fat and ugly 9 months later, but if i wouldnt have had the surgery I wouldnt even be able to move it by now. it would have frozen up.

Yeah, my thumb's pretty nailed. Smashed it up last season trying to do a switch takeoff and catching the tips before the lip, fell about 2 meters over the lip and landed on my thumb. Busted up all the ligaments and broke it. A little premanent damage but not too bad. Had to wear a brace for 6 months, still wear it a bit. My advice would be to wear the brace when you ski and to tape it. I'm going to wear my neopreme brace when I ski and I have a hard ass plastic one for if it gets hurt. But yeah, try and keep it quite ridgid and it shouldn't give you too much trouble. Ask a physio.

Yea ive sprained my thumb a couple of times.
Best thing to do is to do that thing with the pole straps, where when you grip the pole, you grip the strap...fyou know what I mean.
Not a garuntee but it helps

i sprain them pretty bad every year, its just something that happens. tape them up and you should be ok, but they take almost a year sometimes to heal

yeah my brother broke both of his thumbs on the same day...it was at like March and he skied all of the spring with two casts on his hands..it was hilarious..

Ya, I sprained mine last fall... it's still messed up. Myfriend sprained his once, took well over a year before it was 100%. They take soooo long to heal because u use your thumb like, all day long. It'll eentually get better, might be a while tho.
