Buying heat molded boots

i was looking to buy used heat molded boots. i tried my friends Hotdoggers and really liked their fit. now id like to buy a pair, but university is expesive and i can only afford a used boot. the hot doggers im looking to buy were heat molded once and punched out a little. does the heat molding, if it was done professionally in a shop, i.e. done properly, affect the way the boot will fit to my feet in a major way?

You can re-heat mold the boot to fit your feet. The heat will expand the foam, which will cancel out the old molding, then they'll be molded to your feet. The punching out might make a slight difference in fit though.

As said above the boot can be remolded to your foot, and what most people dont know is if you reheat the shell where it was punched the punch can be removed as well pretty easily.

However its not good idea to use a second hand liner. If its had lots of use it will be worn into the shape of that foot, heat molding will inprove it somewhat but never get it to be great. Get the shells but maybe try to find a new pair of liners. Should only be around $200 but they will be like new boots not worn second hand ones.

yea but if his friend wants like 200 from the boots + 200 for liners he could just get a new pair of dropkicks or booters for that price

Just get the classic, it's the same stiffness and mould and they are much cheaper, pretty much the only difference is there is no cable cover, and the footboard isn't made of rubber and there is no Tom Wallisch name that goes along with it

i'm no expert on this, but i'm pretty sure you can re-mold em a handful of times

my shop even heatmolded me a pair when i wasn't convinced, just to let me try em on, ended up not buying em :P

ok thanks everyone. ive found one now that was not heat molded ad punched and only skid for 3 days. getting some good footbeds and i hope that will work. thanks alot!
