Always wanted to ski there, heard it was sick. Too bad I dont have any avy gear...or freinds that want to hike for their turns.

you dont have to hike that much. you can session one run down to the highway and hitch a ride back up. its butter. plus a short 1o min hike gets you to some sweet 30-40 ft cliffs.

Its really to bad they took down the ski area up there. 500 inches of snow and 7 dollar lift tickets.

second that. that resort was so sick. tons of sick lines, tree jibs, and huge hidden booters. they had a sweet park too with actual gap jumps, none of that pussy table top shit. i wish i had a snow mobile that be so sweet.

there's almost always sets of kickers up there.....but i saw an enormous fucking slide up there on my drive home one day. i guess it was set off by something like six idiots who tried to all ski the face at once, and they barely made it to the side of where it was sliding.

but whenever i go to winter park by my self i usually pick up a hitchhiker on my way up.....more often than not they'll load you a bowl, if not at least you've increased your karma meter. you can ski all day without hiking if you hitchhike enough. but i'm too cheap to buy avy gear and too lazy to hike most of the time

How is flail pass? Year after year I resist the urge to hit up those kickers, are they worth it? Arent the good ones farther back (the ones you cant see from 70).

Vail pass is a long hike in to get to better spots for building jumps.

In four years I've lived in CO I've never skied Berthoud. Do you ski off to the southwest or northwest. I dont get it. Do you drive up to the base lot then ski down to the highway??

Does anyone know how Berthoud Pass is now?? November 7th? We havent gotten any snow in like a week, but I heard it was the place to go for early season hiking.

Berthoud is sick. I did a snow cat trip up there 2 years ago. Great terrain but very slide prone. If you go, be very careful. Vail pass is sick too, I take my sled up quite a bit. You have to head way back to get the goods though. 10-15 minute sled ride back from 70. Rabbit Ears and Buffalo passes own all though. Ridiculous amounts of snow.
