saw the Opener tonight. It was ok skiing but there was a catch..... It was only 30 minutes long. Save your money on a purchase, not worth the 12 bucks I paid.

dosent surprise me to hear it was a disappointment... i went the a premiere of Come Find Us, and found it extremely disappointing, as did all of my friends. I know of lots of other movies made with smaller budgets that impressed me more and were a lot more enjoyable to watch.

That being said, im not going to make any predictions about Set Your Sites because I know theyve got some killers riders filming with them this last year, and everyones first go around has room for improvement

Totally gotta disagree, Come Find Us was perhaps the best first movie I've seen out of any new film company. Really struggling to think of one thats been better.

Last year PBP had:
Simon Dumont, Tim Durtschi, Dane Tudor, Jossi Wells, Charley Ager, JP Auclair, Sammy Carlson, Bene Mayr, Andreas Hatveit, TJ Schiller, Charles Gagnier, Riley Leboe, Matt Walker, Mike Henituk, LJ Strenio, Julien Regnier, Josh Stack, Alexis Godbout, John Spriggs, Brandon Kelly, Pep Fujas, Nick Martini, and Leigh Powis
And Revolver still sucked balls.

I don't see what effect adding three skiers who probably are indistinguishable from half of the skiers I listed above and I have never heard of is really going to have on the movie, it will probably be repetitive and worthless again.

glad to know I preordered a 30 minute long movie... Come find us is up there as one of my favorite ski movies so I figured set your sights would be great. Guess it's just a sophomore slump?

I normally agree with your posts, but not in this case. Vila, Jordan, & Riley are completely different from the normal PBP crew. They slay the shit out of urban and each have a very unique style.

I might buy this film for the sole reason it IS under an hour long. I'm pretty sure its only become a recent thing that ski movies are expected to be an hour long. If im watching a Poor Boyz film, due to fastforwarding and skipping bits (i.e night powder skiing....) I end up only watching 30 minutes max.

Does anyone know the runtime of Propoganda and Happy Dayz etc just out of curiosity?
I could believe that the TSP is 30 minutes of bangers aswell

There is way too much hate in this thread, TSP came out of nowhere last year and put together an unbelievably sick, unique film with people you've never even heard of before. I can't wait for set your sights.

I disagree. The movie exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Great urban, good variety, and some bangers in the moonlight section. I think ~30 minutes is pretty close to the ideal length, especially for the more underground companies.

I'm just gonna point out that length means nothing with Ski movies...how many people enjoyed Weight? It's also less than 40min...but it's 40min of good skiing and filming. The fact that you noticed it was short means it was probably REALLY good cause you wanted to see more (when the end credits on Weight rolled, I know I was sad cause I wanted more...so I went to the bonus section, then later that day I watched it again and it was still good). I'd rather be left wanting more then sitting through a boring ass movie for an hour and half just waiting for it to be over *cough*Reasons*cough* (at least for me, I watched it once, and haven't opened the case since...and I payed like $25 for it...). I could care less about length as long as the skiing is good and the filming/editing keeps me interested.

vila, jordan. and cam riley are a completely different type of skier from those you named... not saying that the grande bizarre will be good, but these guys bring something new to the table.

also this year they have osakri raitenen or however you spell it

network was like 40 minutes long. every single minute was banger and it ends up being better than your average 70 minute flick. plus you can watch more times in one day.

The same thing happened with Come find us for me. The trailer looked really sick and well put together so I bought the movie hoping to support a local crew and see some sick shots. Turns out the kids aren't really that good and I found myself thinking I could be in this movie like every other minute. Kinda disappointed, but then I realized I got what I paid for. I'm sure set your sights had the same theme

good, im so sick of hour+ movies. ive literally never watched an hour long ski movie the whole way through more than once. when movies are 40ish minutes and banger theyre perfect... example: afterbang

30-40 used to be pretty standard length for ski movies not too long ago. I seem to remember Plehouse putting out a pretty entertaining flick that was like 28 minutes long. Believe is one of my favourites and it's quite short. Condensing the stoke into a shorter package just means it doesn't drag on and on, and that's exactly what an am (ie not MSP, PBP, L1P etc) should be looking to do.

I just watched a ski clip of some dude named Cam Riley, it was enjoyable to watch, but I think that has more to do with they way Stept put the edit together. Otherwise they guy is just another incredibly qualified East Coast transplant tap dancer with a tendency to wear grotesquely oversized clothing.

Also who is vil? who is Jordan? there are a lot of fucking Jordan's walking around right now, the most famous of which is probably a pretty bad skier.

Yes, I would say "I have never heard of" would indicate that I have never seem them ride. Are they snowboarders then? (Well I know Mr. Riley is not, as posted above)

i saw it last night as well, and it was by far one of the best and funnest premeires / movies ive been to in a while. i loved the 30 min length , it was PERFECT. trust me once more people see it it will be appreciated as a good quality pro/am film, no crazy tripples n shit, just some sick ass shots in some cool montana locations. ha def worth my 12 dollars , just my opinion ., but tsp did a great job.

Clayton Vila has been filming with Stept for white a while and it's Sean Jordan who was in meatheads. Both came through superunknown iirc.

The filming/editing was amazing for a first movie and now with some new riders it should be really good. I probably wont buy it but im for sure going to the premiere in whitefish to support them.

was at the nine o clock premiere last night. and all those guys did a great job. the editing and filming is absolutely phenomenal. the level of riding is really stepping up as well, with boville, torvinen, and kutcher and others filming with them. honestly a great show imo

I cant believe the hate. You have any idea how hard it is to make a 30min movie? TSP put out one of the best trailers and im sure put out an insane movie. And really you want your money back? $12 is nothing to support a company who no doubt invested a ton of time and money into their work....

Maybe editing/filming wise, ill agree there. But riding wise...not even close IMO. I just thought it was over narrated. Especially considering what someone mentioned above me, the level of riding wasnt near high enough to pull that off, I keep thinkin I could be in this movie too. But with their new riders who I know kill it, maybe they got enough bangers that it worked, havent seen it and im not ruling it out but I do not agree with everyone saying Come Find Us was something really special.

its funny because one of the main criticisms of come find us was that it was too long. thats why it wasnt in if3 last year. and the other one is that the riding wasnt exceptional.

set your sights is shorter. every shot in the movie was put in because it was the best one and the riding is 100% better than last year. but still some people are dissapointed and you cant win them all I guess.
