MinggI’m trying to take a shit and my dog is just sitting outside the door whining for me. So much for a peaceful poop.
little1337MatLab will be the death of me
Jerry.at.tricksI got paid today.
What porn site should I subscribe to?
katrinaI think it definitely has. I taught kindergarten for a while in Denver and it's a majority Hispanic population and being able to speak multiple languages is really important and every kid does it all day and they think that the teachers don't know any Spanish which let's be real the only words I know are the bad ones.
casualHe’s a total fucking dork. “Does not pass the vibe check” is scarily accurate.
He passes like the “Hello fellow young people!” Youth pastor vibe check though.

ReturnToMonkeyMatlab classes suck so much. Matlab itself is pretty useful. Being good at learning and adapting to different programs is one of the most important qualities to have
r00kiePerhaps, I didn't take your comment as an attack on me, just tried to elaborate on it I guess. But yeah, way to many of that type working with kids.
MiIfHunterhe was just too good for this world, plain and simple. he died for our sins.
Sdot.Well, thank you for the years that you taught. Teachers (especially new ones) are treated like shit, but they deserve the world, in my opinion. I can understand why you wouldn't want to stay. I just hope there are still great teachers around when my kiddos need them.

CrunnchyVanManGun control is racist
SendyMcSendyfaceDamn right.
CrunnchyVanMangun control is pointless and it will only create more problems with unregulated firearms, and trying to keep people of color disarmed. People are capable of making their own damn choices too
CeleryThe girl who I hugged suggested that we go camping sometime in the near future 😎
Jerry.at.tricksSo your mom is setting up a tent in your backyard and heating up s’more flavored pop tarts for you? Nice dooood.
CeleryIt's actually for real and I'm super stoked. Rn the plan is to hike up the ski hill near her house since it's got a wicked view of the ocean and stay up there.
katrinaAlso the small detail that people who follow the laws are generally not the ones committing crimes.
Jerry.at.tricksI bought an AR with my first stimulus check, and I bought a .300 Win Mag for moose season here in AK with my second stimulus check. Thanks Biden.
katrinaUgh so jealous of your hunting seasons up there! Just putting in for my elk and deer tag draws right now.
Jerry.at.tricksYeah its nice. Best thing about hunting up here is there is literally nobody around for miles. Opening week is a gong show just like everywhere else, but if you wait and are patient the rest of the season you have all to yourself.
katrinaYea it used to be better here, 9mi backpack hunt out in wilderness used to get you some solitude, but not anymore.

r00kieOur political divide has gotten so deep people are making a conscious decision to drink Pepsi over Coke. Wild.
safarisamWent on a really great date with a physical chemist. I forgot how fun dating can be.
katrinaGreat parents go farther than anything else as far as I've seen. So just love your kiddo and do the best you can and it will most likely be alright.
DrZoidbergThis is mostly what has scared me away from teaching. It seems to be a hotly debated topic, but like everybody's been to school. Everybody has known that one asshole kid who is basically unteachable and nothing the teacher can or will do is going to help. Something at home or outside of school needs to change, which is not always easy, but you can't blame the teacher. And it's also not my issue that Billy had two weeks to study for his chemistry test and did no work whatsoever despite ample time and adequate instruction.
My coworker and I were just talking about teaching and our assessment was basically that you get blamed for everything even if the kids suck and nobody on "team raise a child" is putting the work in other than you. And the pay doesn't sound that great unless you teach at one of those fancy college prep type high schools.
katrinaI would say, it's absolutely worth giving it a go if you think you may be interested. It's simultaneously the most heart-breakingly difficult and extraordinarily rewarding thing I've ever done. I don't regret giving it a go whatsoever.
BiffbarfMet up with an old friend and we played with rc airplanes and drones and shit. I've played with the airplanes before but they have crazy algorithms and gyros in them now where you literally have to try to put them in the dirt, and even then you may not be able to. It was so much fuckin fun now I'm going to drop like 300 bucks on some dumb shit and it's all his fault lmao
DrZoidbergActually, wtf is the deal with certificates and stuff? The coworker and I were trying to understand how that works. I have a degree in chemistry and am like an actual practicing chemist. Never had any class related to teaching. Do I just do whatever is needed to get a teaching certificate then I'm set to teach chemistry, which is probably second to only calculus/trig in terms of people not liking it but that aside...
Not that I want to change careers immediately, but for the long term I was wondering about that. And should I ever get into grad school, do the whole phd thing, then work some fancy industry job for a bit I'd imagine I'd be quite eligible to teach pending the right certificate.

ReturnToMonkeyHell yeah dude do you ever go to the Arvada airfield? You should also check out FliteTest they have some pretty affordable model options that are super fun, mostly build with cheap foam board that is surprisingly durable
No.QuarterRC airplanes seem pretty fun, always wanted one as a kid and my dad used to have this rc swamp boat with an airplane engine and prop that was pretty cool, but it never actually got used other than on snow in the backyard. But honestly I’ve never been coordinated enough to trust myself with a plane. But now I’ve got adult money and I’m pretty sure there is an RC airfield around here somewhere so I should totally give it a try.
Always have been kinda self conscious of how RC hobbies are seen as kinda dorky, but my friends sent me a micro crawler for my birthday and it’s too much fun to care about what random people think. I was drinking a beer and crawling some boulders in my neighborhood park the other day and it’s a blast. Highly recommend micro crawlers for a cheaper and more accessible RC hobby. I’ve got an Axial SCX24 and it is super capable for its size
gorbdawggybrent@BigPurpleSkiSuit followed me back on the gram 😏
