No.QuarterLol this was me at one point during college. I rolled back in to Bozo one winter after spending the holidays in Denver with my fam and had the house to myself for a couple of weeks before my roommates came back to town. So for those couple of weeks my schedule was to roll out of bed, take a bong rip outside in the snow only wearing boxer briefs to wake me up, make some hashbrowns and then head to Bridger and chug coffee and smoke joints all day. Then come back home for dabs and pizza. I would take off all my ski gear in the family room and I pretty much turned took over the entire common area with a mess of smelly ski gear, beer cans, and weed. Would spend the nights taking more dabs going on snowy bike rides and listening to music and playing skate 3 until 2 am and pass out of the couch. And then repeat every day for a couple of weeks. My roomate didn't tell me when he was coming home so when he came in the door I was just emerging from a long THC induced sleep under a pile of ski gear, with all of my stuff all over the house, the dishes piling up in the sink, my bike blocking the doorway, with the ski iron left on smoking and dripping wax onto the floor, and a massive stack of pizza boxes.
Shit was fun for a while, but being the house where everyone comes after skiing to hang out and get high and eat a hearty meal got old after a while and a house that smells like ski gear and dabs is pretty gross.
DeebieSkeebiesno offense to you bud but you sound like you live at one of those houses that all the homies love to chill at but no one cleans up after themselves, bongs/dab rigs everywhere, ashtrays everywhere, weed everywhere, etc. haha. just a true dirtbag skier house. its fun for a minute but yeah, that kind of living situation gets old and you eventually shake the party animal shit and wanna have chill weekends where you just want to ski and chill at home cuz you worked all week or something

DilldoesDurangoMy little brother and a few friends are moving out to work the local resort this winter. I am honestly excited for the squalor that I know is coming and all the zero fucks I'll be able to give when I'm there. It'll be a nice break from the reality of being a semi responsible adult who's wife likes a house that doesn't smell like feet and weed.
Young_pattyBeen on the line of dropping out or just doing part time, I can’t do online classes. It’s not worth my money and I simply would not be down graduating with an online teaching degree. At this point my options are drop out next semester and try to wiggle out of my lease or I could go full time at my job (school cafeteria) and get 6 free credits a semester and just do part time until this covid shit is over and I can resume my degree as usual.
Honestly though fuck this life
cypherssame here. unfortunately i can't take a year off without having to reapply to my program.
just need my degree and then i'm outttt
BigPurpleSkiSuitYou're leaving your wife to work at a ski resort?

DeebieSkeebiesi was pretty stoned and a few beers deep last time I trimmed skins so I just got baked instead and did a pretty bang-up job, super proud rn
freestyler540Almost done 5 straight months of working 7 days a week, 8-12hr days. I miss my freedom.
for the last 3 weeks, I have been dreaming of being at home and thinking to myself: Im glad to be home, devoid of responsibilities. Then I wake up and realizing Im still at work and its time for work again. Theres still 2 more weeks until I get off and take a 5month vacation.
I even listed the first things Im doing when I get home.
1. Stop at a dispensary and the liquor store and getting a quarter oz and a scotch. Then roll a log and smoke it while sipping back that sweet liquor in the hotel. Roll another fatty at the airport and get so stonned I cant remember my name.
2. Drive 4.5 hrs from the airport to home with the music cranked up.
3.Taking out my ski gear, put it on and walk around the appartment for 15 minutes
4. Sit outside all night, in the fresh cool mountain air.
5. Buy a pair of rock skis, get them mounted and do a lap at the hill the very same day.
BigPurpleSkiSuitThis post is bringing some serious stoke feels. Congrats on the summer grind dude! Now comes the fun part

No.QuarterWhy is finding an apartment so fucking hard? I feel like I have to take time off of work just to I can search for places and call to schedule stuff during normal business hours.
DingoSeanSeriously though, makes me think how the hell did people do it in the days before phones and stuff, too? You would think technology would have made this shit easy but nope now its just more obnoxious.

Trumpkin2020Lol to people who drive their trucks like limo drivers. I'm not saying to hit railroad tracks at 60mph but ffs you can go a little faster than 1mph over a bumpy section of the road. It ain't daddy's lambo
DeebieSkeebiesnot just for adulting but outdoorsy stuff too. ive always thought about this. technology is good but its also bad. ive seen ads for apps that have Google Earth renderings of ski resorts with the ability to put pins down at all the good spots/where the good skiing is. Nothing is sacred anymore lol
DingoSeanthats why I left north america for a bit to a place where the majority of backcountry skiers are absolute punters from australia who are in town for 10 or so days with the kids. lol
DeebieSkeebieswhat was the snowpack like for you last season? ive seen people talk about japow a bunch obviously but never the nitty gritty stuff like snowpack and stability, my buddies who went never gave me much info so ive always been curious lol, like that FWT venue they had in Hakuba was interesting
DingoSeanLast winter was an overall down year in Japan - absolutely horrible if you were on Honshu down in Hakuba or Nagano and all that.
Here in Hokkaido it was still alright, but the snowpack never built up to normal levels. The Bamboo took a long time to get covered up and even when it did, it didnt take much of a warming trend to expose it...
As far as stability, Japan has very stable snowpack... Last winter it was a fairly wet snowpack - probably moreso than usual, so it tended to bond well together and there was rarely any severe danger besides your large storm slabs right after a big dump. Even when it would rain and then snow again on top of it - which happened at times in the middle of winter unfortunately, it didnt have anything gnarly for too long and the temp gradient allowed everything to solidify pretty well thereafter.
Aspect also didnt have a horribly gnarly effect either. South facing slopes are actually very common in Niseko and come off as quite safe.
Last season in Hokkaido would have been like a slightly below average season in the PNW, but a slightly dryer snowpack... especially if you went into Central hokkaido. Im hoping this winter brings the real goods though...
dwt802Looking like over a foot coming to bridger by Saturday, so fucking stoked
