PICK ME A BACKPACK

Alright guys, help me choose a backpack. My Etnies one is broken beyond repair so it's time for a new one. The only requirement is it needs to have a laptop sleeve/pocket. I don't want any of those hipster ones, I want something that has lots of room, plenty of pockets, and laptop sleeve. Any backs you've had and loved, tell me all about them. +k for help and I hope I don't get flamed for making this thread....

this. i don't know why you need the heli pro for walking around school. the zipper on my campus broke though and I don't know if I'll be going with another dakine.

If you want to talk about broken zippers... let me tell you about my etnies bag (pic below). I only use it for school, nothing else. 1 Zipper fell off the backpack, another one fell off the zipper track? the adjusting buckle on the shoulder strap broke, the chest strap broke, there are holes in the bottom and randomly scattered all over the back. I'm definitely never buying etnies again...

other than the quality, it was a perfect size and everything.

Get a Dakine school pack. I have the campus.

It's the one I have (actually chose the womens model(Jewel), I just enjoyed the colours, you'd never be able to tell). I've had it for about 3 years. Goes with me everywhere, school, travel, parties.
Holds text books, has a laptop pocket, insulated cooler pocket, sunglasses pouch. Best thing, pretty good price.

 Its got tons of space and is also adjustable so you can cinch it and keep everything from moving. Its dope and i recommend it. Burly too..I bet you can put your laptop in the Shovel pocket. I only wish it had a smaller organizer space for pens/pphone/ipod etc. but it does have a nice soft top pocket for that stuff. good luck.

OH  and the reason i bought it, when you want to shred (after you drop your laptop off) You can A -Tree your skis on this pack. Its the smallest pack you can A-Tree.

you know what helps too? waterproof your backpack with that spray stuff. I have an umbrella that more or less keeps me dry, but my backpack always got wet. So I waterproofed it. Problem solved.

I have this backpack too and I love it! I would also recommend it........... FOR SKIING. This is not a backpack for school. I hate when I see kids with heli pros carrying around their books and shit for classes, it is so unnecessary and expensive for a school pack. But you said you were a backpack snob haha so if I was one I would probably go for the heli pro.

And lol Sean, that pack is so gusy.

I have an LL Bean backpack that I have had since middle school, so its like 7 years old and still going strong. Plus LL Bean replaces anything that gets ruined.

any swissgear pack. those things are amazingly comfortable, lots of space w/o bulk, and extremely durable. mine has lasted me a solid 5 years since 6th grade. still going strong.

But if you want a real backpack get a Dakine
They are reasonably priced, Easy to find and well made.

This, except in better colors. Has a solid laptop sleeve that will protect your laptop if you drop the bag for the most part. Lots of pockets and still stylish and relatively small. Love this backpack

Go with Dakine no doubt. I have one for school and one for everything else like biking and shit. I have a dakine covert for school. It's a skate bag but has a laptop sleeve inside and enough space for 3-4 binders. Organizer in the front pocket and big water bottle/random shit holders on both sides. Lifetime warranty too.

I do believe they have a lifetime warranty if I'm correct?

I too have one and after one year of use, it is still 100% functional unlike every other backpack I've ever owned.

for school a dakine mission can't be beaten. i have used mine everyday for school for two years. i don't have a single rip, even a small one, and all of the clips, buckles, zippers and straps still work perfectly. literally not one issue. the laptop sleeve is perfect for my 13 inch macbook in a thin "incase" laptop sleeve. one pocket on the side has a zipper facing the wrong direction so you can reach into it while walking with it on which is awesome for stuff you need on the go, ipod, gum, wallet, etc. the water bottle pocket on the other side that zips out is super handy too. i used that with a metal bottle in it everyday and the thin material under the bottle still hasn't ripped or torn even after being dragged on concrete and stuff. the organizer pocket is great because a pen is at hand whenever you need one quickly in class. the goggle pocket on the shoulder strap side is great for sunglasses and such because it is fleece lined but i usually used it for the big ass bulky calculators required for classes. if you skate the straps on the back should hold a board although i have never used it for that. any way it was the perfect pack at the perfect size for my stuff. i can't recommend it enough.
