Terrible skiing picture published on 1x.com
picture is pretty lacking. even in the sense of photo composition.
Many of the photos on 1x are rubbish.
Oh you know how to take a picture of a random object then desaturate it and over-edit the contrast? sooo artsy...bah
Picked only because it clearly shows it's Movement ski's. Apart from that it's a terrible picture of course...
Yeah I lol'd at "Great positioning and exposure!" Any shmuck could have taken this picture with a decent point and shoot on full auto.
I'm not really seeing how this is a "bad" picture. Granted they went straight to photoshop and took that nice little saturation slide and pulled it all the way to the right. and then again with the contrast. but the focus and clarity are both there. Although it's lacking a foreground. Is there something i should know that NS'ers have against 1X. I would never call my place of business under the term fine art, because those pictures are so far from natural its retarded. And stay classy San DIego i'm Ron Burgandy
Airing out of a half pipe?
Colors are poor, subject looks like shit; there's no context as to what's going on, the composition is poor. Nothing stands out as there's no contrast in scale enough to make anything interesting. There's nothing to look at, it's just a blob.
I could go on. I don't think NSers have anything against 1x, I think people who have a grounded sense of quality, taste and equity in photography have a problem with 1x, because of many of the photos on there.
I feel ya. The general public doesn't see ski pictures the same as us. That particular picture looks like that guy was placed into the scene. Everything you said = the truth.
