What does "Stop running script" mean?!

Whenever I change the page (on NS only) My computer freezes for a couples seconds and a pop-up comes up and says

"Stop running script?

If you dont, your computer will become unresponsive" blah blah blah.."

IS IT JUST ME? Because this just started today and its really annoying, and I cant even click any forum links hahah. I had to ask someone for the link to site Discussion just to make this thread.

ye I'm on the DELL.

I cant look at inboxs either, or delete a thread from mythreads..

Was there like an update or something today? Because this is really random. It's happened to me before when someone had a youtube link or something in their sig.

I need halp.

It's an IE issue. Only happens on IE as well. Couldn't tell more.

If you make the switch to Firefox, or Chrome, you will not get the error anymore, and as an added bonus, you will get a much better browser!

You're not the only one. Before the update it would happen very rarely, like once every hour of browsing. Now its every single page. I realize I could change browsers but I like IE... No other website do this to me

I was getting it before i switched to chrome. Clicking 'yes' seemed to do the trick for me though, everything would work as per normal

download google chrome, its one of the fastest, simplest, most flawless browsers. (more secure to, IE is teeming with insecurities, its a very insecure browser, shes really shy too)


If ur worried about it being a fam computer just dont set it to the default browser. SIMPLE MAN

There seems to be a bug in an ad which is causing IE to generate that popup. It's not malicious, but it is annoying. We'll try and track down the ad.

I'm not 100% on that, but at work (IE) I got the script issue every time a smiley ad came on the right side bar.

So far, I can only reproduce this on the homepage of NS, and it's alwasy the same error regarding an element "WIDGETBOX".

I know for a fact NS doesn't use that as a name for any page elements, it must be coming from a 3rd party script.

Yeah I have this same problem. I'm on IE at work and I can't use anything else. Annoying that I can't check my msgs or do anything really. Boo.

and my links at the top are all messed up all of a sudden. i cant just hover over forums and then go down to click a specific forum. same with all the links except for home.

i had it on ie, then i switched to chrome, its sooooo much faster, and nicer because you can see more in the frame because theres none of all those bars at the top

If you like IE, just google how to turn that pop up off. When I was using IE, that happened to me non stop then I googled it and problem solved. Then I switched to firefox and now I'm on chrome which is the best.
