Debate Help

I'm doing a debate on Friday on whether it is a school's responsibility to make an positive influence on its students. For example: Physical Education, Health class, and just pointing students in the right direction in life. I won't find out if I am for this statement or against it until the day of the debate, so I need reasons for both sides. I already have research in favor of the statement, but have no idea where to start for against it. Can you guys just give me some reasons why it shouldn't be the school's responsibility to influence its students?

the school is a place of learning, not finding yourself. it should be about readin and writing, no "feelings". best i can think up. maybe google it

It is not the schools responsibilty to guide you in the right direction in life, that is your parents responsibilty? I dont know something like that

That's what I was thinking. The only hard part is finding research to back that up. The whole statement is shitty. I wish I could debate the legalization of Marijuana like 1 group from every other class is doing. That is the easiest topic to go both ways on. BTW +k to all of you, even the kid who said don't take shit.
