Wooden Rails?

Hey there.

So I have a fence in my backyard that is built with tubular wooden posts/sections/whatever. They are the right size and shape to work with, but will they work well as boxes and rails? If so, do they need to be waxed or something like that?

idk, but i heard somewhere that they use only hardwoods for wood rails, and i would imagine yours is pine and i think that would catch edges and it would not last very long

its still worth a try! but make sure u wax the crap out of it, and i think it helps if its wet

Try looking for a thick epoxy like they use for bar table tops.

So, should I use the same kind of wax for blading rails or what?

yea, that would work, but u should even try melting the wax onto the wood cause then i could seep into it and last longer

I use this to lube up all our wooden rails.  You can get it at home deopt in the paint/wood stain section.  Works like a charm!  It would probably last a while on drop ins too now that I think about it.
