Rollerblading style

i feel like for a while in the 90s rollerblading got really lame when nobody payed attention to style and people started idolizing skaters like stockwell, who in my opinion skates like hes taking a dump in the woods. Old schoolers like chris chesire (youtube his old videos) had awesome style but it seemed like the generation of rollers to follow just stopped caring about style which is pretty lame imo. Chris haffey and stefane alfano especially have brought some style back into rolling but i feel like bladers like this russian http://vimeo.com/7671986 are really really getting rollerblading back to being really cool again. Nobody is going to call this guy a frootbooter after watching him skate. but yeah if someone can imbed ill give them karma, but i feel like with the fucking saga flashing icon on newschoolers, imbedding just makes computers freeze nowadays.

so yeah watch this russian kid and youll get what im talking about

Also I could be wrong but stockwell???? 90's??? Dude was born in 84.

I bladed in the nineties and these guys were pro.

I started to not stick with it shortly after 2000, what with graduating and getting a job and all. But I don't remember stockwell back then. Like I said I could be wrong though easily.

Also it's funny that you mention squatting to shit in the woods cause it looks like that's what that russian kid is doing to me.

find the the thread I typed about getting started for skating. i's probably on the second or third page of NSG at this point, it could use a bump and it's very helpful. plus look how cool he looks.

A lot of you guys are complete tools....brainwashed, and just plain ignorant....

I rollerblade and started skiing just last season.... I can vouch that both sports are in different categories.... completely different amplitude...it's like comparing a AAA battery to a 9v.... regardless....some fuckers are doing some prettttttty gnarly stuff in both sports.

For the record....almost all of your skii tricks were adapted from rollerblading....not to mention back in 1980 dudes were already triple corking and doing quadruple backflips... (you guys think trick skiing is so newschool....its funny because in the 80s, the skii scene was gymnastic aerial acrobatic spinning, twirling fairies) and if I'm correct in most cases nowadays the name of the game is spin to win...(although I did notice in the past year or so people have been focusing on style a lot more).. so don't think your Newschool skiing is all that hardcore and unique to itself...it's been done before and again.






That's Chris Haffey and Rob G....probably 2 of the baddest mans in the game.

Notably, you all probably have heard of Chris Haffey.... yeah he skies twice a year and he's better than almost all of you.

So stop hating, or hate harder....we all know who the real men are.....clearly not newschoolers trolls, but the guys out there doing stuff and killing it.

P.S. I guarantee you will never find a video of a pro skiier who put on rollerblades and second or third day into it can even compare to an average rollerblader...it's just impossible.....but I bet Chris Haffey is better than your average park rat at the mountain. So which is reallllly harder? I'm not saying either or, again, because of different amplitudes...but think about that one for a little while.

Dude you may not wanna say it but I will, IMO skiing is easier. I've done both for almost twenty years. The extra length in skis is so forgiving, also I'd much rather faceplant the snow than a sidewalk.
