If you came in this thread expecting a thread complaining about school, or even too get in and vent about how much you think it sucks, then this thread is not for you. I'm basically writing this as an appreciation to school.
first some background.
I used too be like everybody else and didnt really care for school, i got good grades and all but just enough too pass. Then i unexpectedly moved across the country with less than 2 months warning, leaving the place i lived for the entire 15 years i have been alive. While i thought most of the effects were negative, i actually gained a lot.
I arrived here about 2 weeks before school starts, and how no way too meet new people, so i pretty much thought i was screwed. alas the day came, and got my schedule that i wasnt too stoked about (all regular classes, even some with freshman because of the schools different order in which the classes take place in).
the first day went by and i was sort of shocked about how ignorant classes really must seem too a teacher, because i had no one too talk too i was just observing the whole thing. i understand why some teachers have a stick up there ass now, because they get walked on like a mat by people 1/4 their age.
another thing I started too realize however, is just how interesting school is. i mean i found myself looking up the things we learned on my own time out of school, and was spending the entire hour long lunch in the library. 1 teacher in particular really fascinated me. at first i only payed attention because DAMN this dude was hot, but then what really caught my attention was that he actually cared about what he was saying.
when he would give a lecture, he got a spark in his eye and a twang in his voice, and his love for knowledge was practically radiating off of him. He genuinely wanted too spread knowledge. over time i realised how much he actually knew about the subjects he was teaching. (you know what i mean, most teachers just remember whats in the books, and thats it.). but damn this guy went all out about these subjects, he would quote literature from every time period and even knew every single detail about there religions. i know this sounds really nerdy, but i swear that is one of the coolest things to me. i want nothing more than too just soak up every bit of knowledge he has too offer, its like looking at the encyclopedia of the world.
The weirdest part is though, i'm looking around and absolutely nobody is paying attention, it makes me wonder if i was really this ignorant in the past, and missed out on having another teacher like this. if teens actually payed attention once or twice during school, i think most would actually really enjoy it. sure it took me having no friends too realise it, but now i cant stress enough how interesting too actually pay attention during class to my friends back home, i mean shit i have a whole notebook just dedicated too writing things down that i want too look up more when i get home!
sorry how poorly written that was, it was all off the top of my head and was just spitting out words as they came too me, i just thought that maybe if somebody reads this, anyone, it might change them a little bit.
