my mom just asked me if ive heard of bassnectar...she goes yea its like techno i kinda like it sounds fun..

i feel like she just gained some cool points for knowing and liking dubstep...shows how popular the music is getting my mom is 41
just had to share..

I play dubstep in the car, and my mom always asks me to put it on her iPod.

Oh, and she also likes deathcore (is that right, i.e. Devil Wears Prada? I can never know the differences).

*most dubstep isn't music. there's a lot of good stuff out there, like bassnectar for example that is the rawest shit out but most of it is wannabe imitation.

It's honestly worthless having a debate on NS about brostep vs. original UK dubstep, so don't even try to start that shit..

I personally think both are very different but good in their own ways.

Please.. you think UK is the only place bumping good dub? Granted, bro step is garbage, and most of it comes from North America, but that does not mean everything from here is crap. I can sit here and name all the artists but that would be pretty stupid, I'm sure you know of them already.

Dubstep.FM is the #1 radio station for anything dubstep, and its from the states.

Skrillex/Borgore/Datsik/Excision isn't even dubstep, its metal.

I understand where you're coming from, but this is pretty backwards.  People were saying 20 years ago that rap wasn't music; look where it's ended up now.  The same has been the case of all emerging genres and trends of rhythmic/melodic audio entertainment.  The fact of the matter is that music is ever more a broad term encompassing a ton of ostensibly different things.  What they have in common is that they are art and that they are structured and continuous.

I put them in the same category because they all suck and they use heavy metal influence, seems logical to me. Obviously Skrillex is way below any of those other dudes but its still all crap.

Getdarker is a podcast that isn't live. Dubstep FM is a live radio show that has more than 400+ Archives for download. You are right about Filth though, they get a lot of hits, but that's because they were already a D&B station long before this shit was cool.
