Yea I would try the ps actions, other than that I don't reccomend converting color digital to black and white unless you have a dedicated program like nik silver efex.

You can get the proper effects without it but it's much more challenging

as an art, what are these photos trying to tell the viewer?
you can clearly take a photo, now put meaning behind them

Ill say it again, they are all the same shot.

Every shot follows the same formula, get close, use a shallow DOF, shoot on an angle. Its a classic go to for budding photographers.
