yeah i saw that too. thats what i love about 'extreme' sports.. the progression. think about how far skiing has come in the past 10 years. people go from throwing 9s and 10s to switch 14s and 16s, with insanely stylish grabs and double inverts. people just go a little bit bigger and get a little bit more technical every year, and you end up with shit like that. love it.

That seems pretty dumb to me. I mean it's kinda cool it hasn't been done before, but it just seems like a waste and like there are way cooler things to do on a surfboard.

its clear that you both dont surf because the magnitude of difficulty of that trick is staggering. put it this way. volcom has had a contest open for the past 4 years giving 10 grand to the first person that lands it. you dont think all the pros would cash in if it was that simple? theyd be scrambling to get a camera and go out in do it, 10 grand in ten minutes. the fact that its taken four years to complete should be an indicator of the difficulty. and that one didnt even count.

you're like one of those guys that talks about how hard it is to hit a fastball in baseball. i don't particularly care how hard it is, i'm not a fan. i fucking love surfing, but a kickflip in surfing is like a quad flip on skis: i can appreciate the fact that it's difficult, but it doesn't make me want to watch it.

it was in the middle of the face of the wave, and to win the 10k volcom said that it needed to be above the lip. itll go down as the first one landed, its just not the contest winning kickflip

it really depends on what your watching.

Watching the Chasing Giants documentary by Stacy Peralta was sick. We watched it in our English 1101 class, and watching these dudes charge huge pipes was so gnarly
