Skier of the Year was just named a couple months ago. Isn't a bit early to try and predict next years winner. BUT, as long as you asked, if it were just comps alone....Alex Schlopy. Unfortunately he's not in any movie segments that I'm aware of. L1P.....pick him up haha!

I wonder how skier of the year would differ if we ran something like that on Newschoolers?

We certainly had a solid argument about it on here, but we've never done something like that ourselves. :)

Powder voted him that way because they came on here and asked for votes. There were 2.5 times as many responses as in years past, most of them coming from folks on this website. That is the reason Wallisch won. I think it is safe to say, that had voting been restricted to folks on TGR with 100 or more posts, Wallisch would not be in the top 10. He had never even made the top 10 in a powder poll before this year, so clearly it was a different voting base than in years past.

I certainly would not call Tom Wallisch the worlds top skier. The most popular skier among the internet voting base? Yes. He needs some big mountain chops before he can claim that title.

I don't know who I would vote for. For last year, it would have been Sage, or Candide, or Henrik Windstedt.

A. He is being a hypocrite when he says Tom Wallisch should not have won freeskier of the year and then proceeds to state that Sage, Candid, and Henrik Windstedt should have won when none of them did anything in the park at all. Sort of contradicting himself there by stating somebody shouldn't have won by not completing one aspect in skiing (pow) and then saying three names who did absolutely nothing in park (don't get me wrong I love all three of those guys, Sage is probably my favorite Big mountain skier).

B. Im really not angry what so ever, try not taking the internet soo seriously

C. Ok im 16 and i guarantee your not too much older
