How doesnt it? He is saying that God and God alone created the world we live in, and that there isnt a snowballs chance in hell of life existing elsewhere. To me, he is flat out rejecting a view that at least has SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE to back it up to some level and his view that some 'supreme and almighty' being just created us and just us seems preposterous! Space is HUUUUUGE, there ARE other Earth like planets/moons out there. To think we are really alone is being close minded. You may want to believe that, but in todays age of science, information, and people having a desire for truth, THAT is being close minded.

You're all closeminded hypocrits. But it's not you're fault.

You all laugh of people from the middle-age for believing in god and hell etc. But you're just as brainwashed, we are all told that science explains everything, but in reality you can't know anything for sure. Which again means you can't know for sure that you can't know anything for sure (inb4 Xzibit). But these thoughts would again be a product of my brainwash, meaning I'm trapped in a circle of ignorant believe in the evidence of the universe. And even this is not broadminded, --> We are all closeminded copycats, the difference is just what we copy (science, church etc.)

I choose to follow science not b/c I am a copycat/close minded, but b/c with science, there are ways and evidence to at least prove something. I dont see why I should feel compelled to follow a set of teaching, beliefs, ect just b/c some guy a long time ago 'supposedly' did wonders. I chose to follow fact and proofs over what some would call a 'fictitious' book.

To be a copycat is to do something b/c others do, I dont believe in evolution over creation b/c of what others think, hell both my parents were good going church goers and creationists. I am not at all, I choose to take the FACTS presented and put my faith in an idea that has some scholarly merit and basis.

Im not attacking you at all. Sorry if I came off that way.

Not offended at all, but the point is that nobody really chooses what to believe in. For instance, most people i know would find it disgusting to eat their parents after their death, while in a very different culture this could be very normal. All types of religion have a sort of proof, it is just that we who belive in science don't find it to real. I'm not saying religion is anymore right than science. But you can't REALLY know that every time you boil water it will evaporate, though it seems very very very liekly to us that will happen.

I guess you and I are different. I inform myself and than I choose what to believe and why. How, according to you, do you account for my vastly different religious views from my parents and grandparents?

What is this sort of proof of religion?

Something tells me they would have ruled that out. It's not that hard to date rocks (and boy are they good it bed. Har har, bad joke), so age along with the composition could rule it out from being from earth. Just guessing here. Good point, but it does seem like that would be an amateur mistake they wouldn't do.

take a second to think about how rare it is to have a planet with life. right distance from the sun, rotation on a 23.5 axis to provide four seasons, all equally essential for plant life. an atmosphere made of oxygen and nitrogen. appropriately place planets within the solar system, jupiters gravity attracts most space debris....sparing earth from collision with inconceivably large meteors
