All around lenses for t2i?

I have been looking at a t2i for a while, just waiting for the t3i to come out and t2i price drop. Im thinking about a sigma 18-50mm. I also want a bigger zoom lens or a wider angle lens beside the 18-50mm. I don't want to spend much more than $200 for them if thats possible. I could spend a bit more if needed but that number is ideal. If i find a better all around lens that could also take place of the 18-50 then im all for that.

You're not going to find much for 200 bucks. Maybe a Peleng 8mm fisheye? If you're hesh that's an all around lens.

not really looking to spend that much on some of those lenses you gave me in that list. how does the hv30 or hv40 compare to the t2i? also any other alternative dlr's or camcorders anyone has for suggestions

Just get the kit with the canon 18-55. Lens isn't amazing but it gets the job done.

There is no real "all around lens". That why a lot of filmers that use DSLR's have multiple lenses to tackle multiple tasks. i.e. wide angle for close in, telephoto for far away, etc. I would suggest saving up more for better glass too b/c $200 wont get you too far as far as quality goes, and good glass makes all the difference.

i'd personally suggest the tamron 17-50, its much much much sharper

Yes. Its such a sharp lens and you can get it for around 350.

the lense i keep on my t2i for everyday use is a canon 15-85. Its good for everything. Although i dont really think its in your price range
