I don't go there this year but it seems like the past few years, mt snow makes some pretty big booters at the end of inferno and i'd see them get hit like a handful of times the whole year. i'd see popular ams around the mountain and they'd be in the gulch most of the time, and even in edits from well known ams you usually see maybe one or two shots of jumps from inferno, and even then it seems to always be one of the smaller jumps in inferno, not the last one
almost every time i hit that line last year i was completely alone in inferno, just me and a lot of really big mounds of snow. what's the deal, when do these things get torn up? i think the most ive seen on these jumps are 3s, besides in a couple edits where there was a competition there or something
not challenging anyone or anything, just curious. sort of hard to get pumped up to throw anything more than a 3 when the only times ive been in there im totally alone, trying to judge the jumps' speeds without watching anyone hit them
i haven't been to mount snow in like 4 years, but this was definitely true when i was in college. you've just gotta find some buddies to ride with who are willing to hit them too. but it's definitely true that when the sun comes out in the spring, they'll be mobbed
Honestly judging from my last trip, inferno isn't THAT much bigger than gulch but lacks the float and pop you feel on gulch..so why not gulch? the thing i do like is the speed is always the same, straight!
really? maybe it's just a mental thing but i always feel like there's a big gap between the gulch jumps and inferno jumps. the gulch ones being a tiny bit small for my liking, the inferno ones being definitely bigger than what i feel comfortable on. then again, you said last week, and i havent been to mt snow this year
agreed on the speed though haha. oh you just speed checked? your run's over!
really not a big difference at all..hop on heavy metal and look at inferno to the left and then compare it to the 3 pack on gulch...really isn't a big difference.Anyways you usually see people knuckling inferno or hitting the sweet spots while kids take gulch deep
most i've done on inferno jumps was a cork 5. /claim. i've only been to mt snow once, and i really didnt like how flat all the landings were. overall though, it is a terrific mountain. IMO better than northstar in tahoe. but i think ill stick to mountain creek cause its about 20 min from my house.
gulch landings are PERFECT..the only thing that bothers me is speed is so sketchy from day to day...sometimes u got to much sometimes u wish you had a lot more! but def my favorite run at mount snow. Nitro can be nice becuase its long and fun to dick around on but it usually swamped
We have a couple of massive jumps at my hill, Mountain Creek, that I hit once or twice and realized that I was wayyyyyyy too much of a pussy to throw anything respectable off of them. So I have decided to be a pussy until I get enough balls to try something, they are soooo fucking poppy.
out here in the pnw stevens pass's line is really nice, I think its 47-52-52 and they're pushing the jump back more after the recent dump. someones said we're aiming for 50-60-70 but i don't know if that's true..
