My luck sucks - how I ruined a pow vacation

Girlfriend is griping about lack of available funds for upcoming trip. Im not a total sugar daddy and I ain't paying all her shit.....

Vacay is set to be Feb 26th - March 6th. I suck it up and rebook the flight and everything so its feb 28th - march 6th. Now of course whats happening feb 25th/26th? Something like 50 inches of fresh snow falling over 60 hours.

So now I leave tomorrow to come to Utah for a WEEK worth of what looks to be absolutely mundane weather with no snow in the forecast.

My hope here is that all the good terrain remains closed for avy danger until Monday morning sometime when I arrive......

I just keep saying to myself...its okay man. All you have to do is look for it. People don't harvest ALL the pow.....just the easy to get stuff.

But then I get worried about sunbaked shitty snow.....


I was about ready to walk up to the airport counter yesterday and say how much to get me to fuckin utah cause I need to go STAT!?

stop being a bitch. Therell be snow for you and everything will be alright. Its not ruined. no go pleasure yourself to thoughts of that snow.

feel lucky, I'm currently at red mountain, I've got my skis, however boots, snowpants, goggles, gloves, and helmet did not, and the aiport air canada wants to fly my shit into is cancelled more than it isn't so I'm shit out of luck for a week.

Thats basically what I am going to do this time (as I do every time?) is try and open up the secrets of the resorts. Keep exploring and heading to new areas.

The slackcountry access that everyone misses. I found a couple spots at Brighton like that and I was like dude I'm fuckin drowning in powder over here.......and you are on a cat track.

It's just that easy....hop off the lift and drown in powder shit....all getting harvested right now....

It was sick i had 5 out of 8 powder days at snowbird last week. You should be fine though bro dont worry about it

im in utah right now, all the pow isnt gone, a bunch of terrain isnt even open yet because of avalanche danger. And with Utah you never know when a storm is gonna roll in

there is still sooo much snow here. its only sunbaked in spots. high elevations and trees and still blower. if you cant find good snow youre not looking hard enough. i recommend the canyons if you want untracked stuff. finding good pow at that resort is too easy. you missed the weekend crowds and you wont have any crowds this week.

After this trip I have decided all upcoming ski trips will be spur of the moment shit.

Like "big mass of moisture in the pacific?".......KAYAK.com please....!


That way I can just time it like a pro. I might pay more for a flight, but I can find decent rental and hotel deals. And I'd much rather pay $150-200 more on the flight to actually ski the storm and the days after rather than show up after the party is over.
