I'm assuming you mean this x + 0.08875x = 6

x + 0.08875x = 6
1.08875x = 6
x = 5.510907003444317

Factor out those x's baby. X(1+.08875)=6. 1.08875x=6. X=5.51. And just a helping hand, the variable goes before the unknown constant ;)
