Marker Griffon - benefits of wide mount just hype? +k

Does the wider mounting pattern on the griffons actually make a difference on fatter skis in your opinion or is this just bullshit marketing? (in my case, 93mm waist)

We have a half dozen pairs of Markers on our skis and while there is some slop when there isnt a boot popped in, I've yet to see a problem with the plastic tracks, despite how sketchy they look.


Now someone come in with a story about that piece exploding and ruining their season.

Markers have a narrower toe screw patterns than Look, Salomon and Tyrolia, and two heel screws narrower than PX-style Looks, Salomon and Tyrolia, so I have no idea how they decided they have a wider footprint.

And whoever commented on Schizos, I was very skeptical too but mine are holding up well, and I'm pretty rough on bindings.
