AHHH My shin

Today in Class i was park coreing around some handrails with my friends when i jumped on one rail it was slippery i slipped and luckly fell right on my shin on the rail. So now i have a massive bruise on my left shin. :/ Tonight i was going to try to do some keystone night skiing but when i put on my boots i was in redicouluos amount of pain. So tonight im not going night skiing. So i need some tips for this shin to not be a pain in the asssssss.

stick a beer cozy in your boot . helps with shin bang an stuff, prolly would make it hurt a little less

if you smash your other shin it will equalize the pain, spreading it out, and make it less intense and more bearable...

i once fell on the edge of a dock directly on my shin. i had a massive dent and bruise for the next month. it was some of the worst pain i've ever felt

this happened to me before(not the same cause) but i rubbed ice on my shin for like 5 minutes before i went to bed and then wrapped the ice around my shin and slept with it. no swelling in the morning

ice works great to reduce swelling but why wouldnt you hit the rails on skis not "park coreing" them?

I walked into a conveniently shin high coffee table while going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I had a huge 3 inch long gash. I just sucked it up because I'm not a pussy.

Don't Put heat on it. It will cause more blood flow to the injury and cause it to swell more prolonging the pain and swelling.

For a shin injury your best bet is to R.I.C.E it

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation

Ice it with 20 mins on for 2 hours off and try not irritated it too much.
When you go skiing try to wear thicker socks or have more padding on your shins to help keep the problem from becoming worse. Good Luck man, shin injury suck really bad.

ive done something similar before (although not quite as stupid). dont put ski boots on straight away. ice the wound on for 15 mins, off for 15 mins for several hours. try to keep it elevated. usual stuff for injuries. if you really need to ski, or you feel like you should be able to but it still hurts, have some ibuprofen like advil. dont exceed the recommended dose but i promise it will help

Also you can get jelly pads from the pharmacy to put in the tongues of your boot to help cushion them a little. I've had it a lot and this helps.
