Could be a couple things, pending its not steam or fog around him, and based on that ugly ass flare, Ill say they are newton rings.. I could be wrong, but either the lens is garbage or the filter is garbage. Once again, based on that flare.. the lens is garbage.
I mean I even doubt it was his breath, it would be some funky ass diffraction to give you those circles off just his breath.
And its likely from that china filter you thought wold be acceptable lol take that shit off. Go buy a decent B&W UV filter, they couldnt be more than $25 for a 52mm UV. Oh and while your at it, throw that lens away too.. I swear Nikons 50mm 1.8 has to of been the worst lens Ive ever held.
Regardless of your lens/ filter combo, shooting into the sun will almost always produce some amount of flair. Obviously better lens/ filters can alleviate this problem, but nothing will ever be 100%. Gotta live with it, shoot less directly at the sun and maybe buy a better lens if you're so inclined. In a case like this you're probably better off not using a filter at all. No need to add even more glass and chances of reflection in an already difficult scenario.
ahahaha, completely did not. sorry man. didn't look at the picture full size. it's friday afternoon, I'm in college.. I shouldn't be trying to sound intelligent. They do look a lot like Newton's rings. Either way, what I said about not adding even more glass with a filter still stands. Interference is weird.
