Noodleynees of 2010 bents to the 2011

So I got to test out the 179 2011 k2 bents and they are mega sick. I really like how soft they are and how easy it is to butter jib around etc. I was wondering if the 2010's of earlier ones were much different. Because Right now I really want a pair, I would love the 2011, but them, with good bindings is pushing a grand and I don't really have that type of coin right now. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get to 2011, or do the earlier models offer the same flex pattern? also are there any other skis that have the same flex pattern?? I know EP's are quite close, but are they softer then the bents? I just really like softer pow skis after skiing uber stiff icelantics for the past little bit thanks for help

The EP Pro's are softer than the hellbents, but not by that much. As far as i know they got a little bit stiffer in the 10 model and wider than the models before. I would say its not worth it to get the 2011 they will be way overpriced.

No I think they got a little stiffer. I didnt see them at SIA but I thought they were keeping the same flex as the 2010's but that is not the same as the earlier models.

I believe they're stiffer, but only slightly. They kept the core profile the same and just widened, speculating.

I've got a pair of '11 179s and '08 179s which I kinda killed.

The 11's are noticeably stiffer, particularly in the middle ~1 meter of the ski. The tips and tails are about the same. This makes the 11s feel much less sketchy when skiing rubble/crud or going fast on hardpack. They are probably the greatest bulldozer style ski I have ever tried.

I reckon the 11s are a lot more fun. Partly because they're so stupidly wide.
Also they have a slightly early taper so they have less swing weight and a little more sidecut, and it's even harder to hook the tips/tails in soft snow.
The big change though is that they now have carbon fibre stringers like the Kung Fujas, this makes them quite a lot poppier and livlier than the old ones which at times could be just big dead noodles.

Personally I prefer them over my EP Pros (which I also killed, I'm too fat...)
All wicked skis, IMO '11 HB > '09 EP > '08 HB
